The Cannondale Quick CX 4 is built on an Aluminium Alloy frame. Cannondale are considered the best in Aluminium frame design, the lightweight, MTB-inspired Aluminium Alloy frame offers a comfortable upright riding position. Cannondale's Smartform Alloy tech helps create refined tubing, precisely controlled tube shapes and strong welds to create the much-needed stiffness. Compared to the 218 CX 4 the top tube in 219 is slightly less slanting which makes it more performance focused. The Suntour NEX front suspension fork with a 5mm travel provides adequate relief from uneven surfaces. A switch on the fork crown allows you to lock the fork out for more efficient cycling on smooth roads.

The Quick CX 4 is fitted with a MTB style drivetrain and is the same as the 218 version. The Shimano Altus/Acera combination is mid-level in the Shimano MTB groupset hierarchy. During the test ride these gears worked smoothly and the transmissions fell in place without any lag. The 24-Speed combination gave enough depth for both acceleration and climbs. The shifters were responsive and easy to use.

Cannondale have always been known for neat looking design and graphics. The bicycle I test rode came in the standard Cannondale Green colour with Black graphics. The smooth welds on the tubes and internal cable routing make the bicycle look neat. The gloss paint job was top notch and the internal cable routing made the bicycle look neat and saves the cables as well.

The Stopping power on the CX 4 is taken care off by Tektro's M285 Hydraulic Disc brakes. The braking power is powerful and quick to react. Take this Cross Hybrid on flat off-road trails and these brakes will be more than sufficient to keep the speed in control.Cannondale's C3 68mm Alloy handlebar was the perfect blend of aggressiveness and comfort with just a slight raise from the middle. The padded grips gave good support to the palms, which absorb some amount of vibration.

The Tektro Hydraulic Disc Brakes were perfectly suited for both smooth roads and flat trails

Panracer's Comet Hardpack 7x38C tires are the perfect all-rounder tires on the Quick 4 CX and same as the 218 version of this bicycle. Whether you are riding on gravel or commuting on flat roads these 7C tires had evenly spaced treads to keep you balanced. The wheelset was light in weight which helped in rolling faster. The Cannondale Quick CX Ergo Saddle was also ergonomically designed with enough padding to keep the rider soreness free on bumpy roads and flat trails.

The Quick CX 4 is built for flat trails, light single tracks and urban roads. As a city commuter on the street, it sometimes feels bigger but that makes the ride more comfortable. The suspension lockout helps in acceleration on flat surfaces. The Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes were powerful enough for wet and dry trails/roads. Priced at Rs.54,85(as on 29th August 219) the Cannondale Quick CX 4 (2019) is ideal for anyone looking to buy a bicycle for both urban rides and flat trails.Prices and Specifications/Components are subject to change by the brand, without due notice.
