Java Vesuvio 105 Disc - Review

The Java Vesuivio is built on a lightweight full carbon frame. The aggressive geometry is designed for fast and compact rides. This frame features a tapered head tube, smoothly welded frame, and an integrated seat post clamp. The aerodynamic tube profiles aid in smooth air reintegration, and the aero-flattened carbon fork helps keep the front of the bicycle light.

The Vesuivio 15 Disc is equipped with a full Shimano 15 R7 road drivetrain. Shimano 15 is known for being a performance-oriented drivetrain, positioned below Dura-Ace, Ultegra, and Di2 in the Shimano road hierarchy. During the test ride, the gears shifted cleanly, smoothly, and quietly both at the front and rear. The 2x11-speed integrated Shimano 15 shifters allowed for easy gear changes with feather-light pressure.

Java's designs are cutting-edge and futuristic, with smooth welding of the tubes. The road bicycle we test rode featured a black gloss finish with red accents for the graphics and text. The flat aero tube profiles, bladed carbon fork, and integrated seat tube clamp greatly enhance the aesthetics of this road bike.

The disc brakes on the Vesuivio are lightweight and powerful on flat tarmac and balanced even on wet roads. The Deca Alloy drop handlebars are perfectly sized for optimum control during steep turns and also offer a compact riding posture.

The Continental Ultra Sport 7x25C slick tires are race-specific, built to be lightweight and reliable. These tires offer maximum traction on both dry and wet tarmac and are supported by lightweight deep-dish Decaf rims. The Deca saddle is stylish and provides a level of support and cushioning suitable for both fast rides and long distances. The integrated seat post clamp is also aerodynamically shaped.
