Snapshot

The Triad X2 Cross is a Hybrid Bicycle built on a Hi-Tensile Steel frame. This rigid frame is well designed, sturdy and lightweight. The geometry on the X2 Cross is the perfect example of comfort on a Hybrid Bicycle. You will find yourself open chested and with a straight back, which ensures that you are in an ideal position for comfortable riding. The frame has a circular tube profile across the frame sections. This results in optimizing strength at the key joints, while minimizing weight where larger material accumulation is not required. The front suspension fork is just enough to tackle bumps, potholes and speed breakers on rough urban roads.

The Triad X2 Cross is a 7-Speed Bicycle equipped with a Shimano Tourney 7-Speed rear derailleur and is controlled by a Shimano 7-Speed trigger shifter. When on the test ride, the shifting was smooth and precise with absolutely no lag. The trigger shifter was easy to operate, requiring an easy push and pull to shift between gears. These gears were efficient in shifting and the 7-Speed range was more than adequate for urban commutes, fitness and leisure rides.

The X2 Cross from Triad is a simple yet good-looking Hybrid Bicycle. The frame design is sleek with eye catchy tube profiles, along with one of the best gloss finish paint jobs in the industry. The Bicycle which I test rode came in a full dark grey primary colour with Fluorescent Green as the secondary colour for the graphics and text.

A pair of Power V-brakes handle the braking on the X2 Cross. While many entry-level Bicycles are moving to Mechanical Disc brakes there are only a handful of Bicycles which are still using V-brakes. Good quality V-brakes like the ones used in Triad X2 Cross are as good as and sometimes even better than most Mechanical Disc brakes, in terms of stopping power and easy maintece. This raiser handlebar was wide and gave an open chested riding posture. The stem is adjustable and lets you raise the handlebar height vertically. This makes the riding posture even more comfortable and straight backed.

The V-brakes at the front and rear were balanced and ideal for safe braking

The Triad X2 Cross rolls on a pair of slick 7x35C tires. The treading and size of the tires were ideal for city commuting and long rides. The rolling resistance was fast and the tread pattern provided enough traction on wet roads as well. The stock X2 Cross saddle had ideal cushioning and width for a soreness free ride on bumpy roads.
