Vaux Swifter Review

Vaux Bicycles belong to a premium category that conceptualizes before manufacturing, imagines before executing and tests before innovating. Narrowing the gap between functionality and bike art, Vaux strikes the fine balance for Cycling enthusiasts. We got the opportunity to test ride the Vaux Swifter and here is what I thought. Weight: 13.8kgs Usage: Commute/Fitness

The Vaux Swifter is a strong yet lightweight Steel hybrid bicycle built for urban commutes and fitness rides.

Snapshot

The Vaux Swifter D is built on a Hi-Tensile Steel frame. Steel frames are perceived to be heavy but the build quality has made sure the weight is less. This made the ride smoother and easy to accelerate, even on inclines and flyovers. This is a rigid hybrid with no front suspension, the rigid fork was flat and aero which also contributed to the overall weight being less.

Comfortable riding posture.

Shimano's Tourney in the front and rear complete the 21-Speed derailleur system. Tourney is considered entry-level in the Shimano hierarchy but this version of Tourney derailleurs are not only sleek in design but they were also smooth in shifting during the test ride. The shifting was smooth and no lag experienced during the test ride. The shifters for this 21-Speed derailleurs are the older variant with a dial type shifter display.

The Bicycle which I test rode came in a full Black frame with Red and White graphics in quite a few places on the frame. The brand name ‘Vaux’ is visible in a bold font across the bottom tube which is very unique. The gloss finish paint job is top notch and enhances the quality of the Black colour on the frame. The straight top tube and flat rigid fork made the Bicycle look sleek.

The Vaux Swifter comes in 4 colours; White, Black, Grey and Orange

The stopping power on the Swifter is taken care of by a pair of JAK Mechanical Disc brakes. During the test ride these brakes were powerful. They were both reactive and balanced making them safe to use on the both wet and dry roads. The brake levers were easy to engage. The flat handlebar on this Hybrid was ideal in length. The handlebar could have had a raiser to make the riding posture even more comfortable.

The Vaux Swifter 7x35C Hybrid tires were sleek, during the test ride these tires proved its worth by rolling over urban roads with ease. The wheel sets are strong and could handle the bumps on the road. The stock saddle on this Bicycle was padded well which ensured the rider was soreness free even after riding on rough roads.

The 7x35C tires were slick and fast rolling

This Hybrid comes with a strong yet lightweight Steel frame. The flashy frame colour with a shiny gloss finish paint job was aesthetic and comes in 4 colour variants. The JAK Mechanical Disc brakes and the 7C hybrid tires made this bicycle roll faster and stop quicker. Priced at Rs.21,(as on 25th January 221) the Vaux Swifter is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a bicycle for commuting and fitness rides.Prices and Specifications/Components are subject to change by the brand, without due notice.
