Cosmic 2800: ChooseMyBicycle Expert Review

The frame is made of Aluminum Alloy which keeps the weight of the bike low. The frame geometry will be perfect for riders to have a comfortable ride. There is a single bottle holder mount on the bottom tube. There are mounts for mudguards at the rear. It will be able to handle bad city roads because of the front suspension. The bike has some speed to it at top gears. The out of the saddle position was natural. The suspension is cosmic branded. The lock-out on the suspension is the best part on this bike, which gives you the option to use it on full throttle on the flat roads. There was a slight give on the suspension while getting on the bike where u lose around 10mm out of 80mm travel even on high preload. This does not affect the ride quality.

The 2800 paint and decals look attractive. The gradient flow of the colour makes it a looker. It comes in 3 colour options and each one gets a matching accent on the grips. The geometry of the bike will be suitable for almost all height range. Position of the shifter and brake lever needs adjustment for better holding and shifting. The internal cable routing is there but it looks clunky at the front. Its more congested.

Cosmic 2800 gets 2x8 gearing setup with mostly Shimano components. The 2-speed crank is from Optimus SIRIUS which is coupled with Shimano Tourney front derailleur and 8 speed cassette is coupled with Shimano Altus. The gearing combination is mostly suitable for trail riding. The highest ratio going up till 3times and lowest going down till 0.5 times approx. Even though the gearing on the bike is lower the combination with the 27.5inch wheelset gives it a good torque to push the bike fast. Keep in mind when shifting it to higher gear you will have to hold the thumb lever for few extra seconds before the click to allow the chain to engage.

The NUTT Hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotor are exceptionally good. The bite of the calipers brings the bike to an instant stop. Brakes are very responsive and as the levers are separate from the shifters it is easier to adjust according to our needs to get effective hold during downhill riding. The 600mm(approx.) handlebar width makes it easy to handle the bike on sketchy trails and bad roads.

The bike gets alloy rims with disc brake hubs all in black with red decals. The tyres are 27.5x2.25 inches and had good grip on and off the road. The rolling resistance on the road was less and was easy to ride. There was a wobble on the front wheel on the test bike make sure to check it one during the bike set up. The saddle was wide and had enough cushion to keep you comfortable.
