Bike Ark is an Indian Bicycle brand with various models from fixies, to MTBs to Hybrids. From their initial Fixed Gear Bicycles this brand added geared Hybrid Bicycles in their range and now they have launched their first Road Bicycle. Stylish design and colours have always been the core for all models from Bike Ark. We got the opportunity to test ride the Bike Ark Yolo Roadie and here is what we thought.

The Bike Ark Yolo Roadie is an ideal first road bicycle with a lightweight frame and a value for money price tag.
The Bike Ark Yolo Roadie is built on a full 6061 Alloy frame. The Yolo Roadie marks Bike Ark’s entry into the road range of bicycles. The frame’s geometry is standard with a straight top tube, which made sure that the riding posture is comfortable and relaxed. The tubes have been welded smoothly and the overall frame has been built in a way for it to absorb vibrations off the surface, which in turn will reduce the stress for the rider. The Hi-Ten Steel rigid fork in the front were bladed and strong.

Bike Ark has always been known for their design, since their very first Fixed Gear Bicycle models. The Yolo Roadie which I test rode came with a full Grey frame with Black, White and Red as the secondary colours for the graphics and text on the Bicycle. The matte finish paint job was smooth and neatly done. The deep dish rims definitely enhanced the aesthetics of this Bicycle.

Shimano’s Tourney A070 in the front and rear complete the 14-Speed derailleur system in the Bike Ark Yolo Roadie. Tourney is considered entry-level in the Shimano hierarchy but the A series of Tourney derailleurs are made specifically for road bicycles and are sleek in design. The shifting was smooth and no lag was experienced during the test ride. Shifters for this 14-Speed derailleurs are the paddle type and are easy to use.

The Tongli branded Mechanical Disc brakes on the Bike Ark Yolo Roadie were sufficient for all braking needs on flat tarmacs. The brakes felt balanced but could have been more powerful.
The drop handlebar was wide enough to give great steering control and easy access to the paddle shifters and brake levers.

The Compass 700x28c road specific tires on the Yolo Roadie were ideal for flat roads. They were slick and fast rolling and the tread pattern gave enough traction to keep the Bicycle safe on wet surfaces. The double walled alloy rims were deep dish with a 40mm width.
The ergonomic stock saddle was designed with perfect length and width to make sure the rider is comfortable on both bumpy and long rides.
The Compass 700x28c tires were fast rolling on flat roads
This Road Bicycle has a lightweight Alloy frame with an endurance focused geometry. The matte finish paint job was top notch in quality with a smooth finish. The Compass 700x28C road tires with deep-dish alloy rims and sealed cartridge hubs were aesthetic and helped in faster rolling resistance. Priced at Rs.32,999(as on 14th January 2022) the Bike Ark Yolo Roadie is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy their first Road Bicycle.
