Cannondale is an International Bicycle brand with a rich history of making some of the best Bicycles in the world. Their fleet of bicycles cater to all kinds of riders and for all types of terrains. From the MTB range we got the opportunity to test ride the Trail 7 (27.5) (2018) and here is what we thought.

The Frame of the Trail 7 (27.5) (2018) is built using Cannondale’s famous S.A.V.E Technology. This frame has a tapered head tube and smooth welded edges to keep most of the material at places in the frame which is capable of taking in vibrations of the trails. The slanting top tube makes the ride geometry aggressive and comfortable as well.
The SR Suntour XCM front suspension fork comes with a massive 100mm travel which worked really well on the roughest of trails. The manual suspension lockout helped make the fork rigid and thus ride faster on flatter surfaces.
Cannondale have always set a high standard when it comes to design. The Trail 7 (27.5) (2018) which I test rode came in a full Acid Green frame with Black as the secondary colour with internal cable routing for the gear cables. The gloss finish paint job was of superior quality. This bicycle has information stickers all over the bicycle which tells the specific technical aspects of the bicycle, this adds a nice touch to the bicycle. The wide MTB tires with big threads help the bicycle look rugged.
A performance focused MTB like the Trail 7 (27.5) (2018) requires precise gearing. This bicycle is equipped with a Microshift direct mount 3-Speed front derailleur and Shimano Altus 9-Speed rear derailleur. This Altus rear derailleur worked seamlessly during the test ride. The Shimano EF505 RapidFire shifters were smooth in shifting with efficient spring action.
The Cannondale Trail 7 (27.5) (2018) is equipped with Shimano’s M315 Hydraulic Disc brakes. These brakes are the best you can find on a hardtail MTB with 160mm rotors. These brakes were safe and balanced on even the most slippery and roughest of trails. The Shimano Brake levers were easy to engage with just 2 or 3 fingers.
The Cannondale C4 MTB handlebar was was 680mm in length, this width made sure the rider has full control and great handling capabilities while riding.
As in the name of this bicycle this bicycle, the Cannondale Trail 7 (27.5) (2018) rolls on a pair of WTB Ranger Comp 27.5” x 2.25” tires. These tires really do own the trails, mainly because of its thick tread pattern with DNA compound and the 2.25” width. These tires provide maximum traction to keep you safe on the trails.
The stock Cannondale Stage 3 MTB Saddle is ergonomic and keeps you comfortable on fast trail rides.
This 27.5” hardtail MTB is meant for the both trails and flat surfaces. With smooth gear shifting and powerful Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes this bicycle will leave you feeling confident on the most challenging of trails. The heavily treaded 27.5” tires are capable of handling both wet and dry surfaces and even unpredictable muddy trails.
