Design
A well-designed jersey that is vibrant yet simple
The Castelli Anima Jersey we got to review was the Dark Blue jersey with a contrasting Bright Pink on the zipper and the sleeve-ends. The branding on the jersey is minimal, with just the brand’s logo prominent in two areas – on the left side of the chest in the front and on the pocket in the back. The bright vibrant colours used on the jersey are sure to stand out.
Fit
A fairly comfortable fit
The Castelli Anima Jersey comes in five sizing options - XS, S, M, L and XL. The fit of the jersey tested was comfortable while not being too snug. The length of the jersey was adequate for it’s sizing. Furthermore, the sleeves fit well - the length of the sleeves is on the shorter side, and covers about halfway to the elbow. Some might find this a little too short for a cycling jersey. Though, the fit of the sleeve around the arms was comfortable and not tight or constricting. I found the elastic band at the hips slightly more “snug fitting” in comparison to the rest of the jersey.
Technology
Top-notch features on a cycling jersey
The Castelli Anima Women’s jersey is made with a lightweight Velocity Dry fabric on the front of the jersey, which allows moisture management and stretch ability. The back of the Jersey is made using Prosecco Strada Donna fabric that enables ventilation. The Dual-Colour YKK vislon zipper is snag-free and enables easy opening and closing of the zipper. The neck protecting flap on the zipper gets slightly stiff when zipped all the way up, which could cause slight discomfort when hunched over drop bars. The silicone elastic at the hemline provides a snug fit of the jersey around the waist. This jersey comes with three open elasticated pockets at the back which provide ample room for one’s phone, gels and other immediate necessities while on the saddle. Additionally, the reflective viz-strips on the back of the pocket provides additional visibility and safety. This jersey is aesthetically pleasing while being super functional.

The lightweight and breathability of the Castelli Anima Women’s jersey makes it aerodynamically perfect, making it a great option for wearing while racing and/or during fast paced training sessions. Additionally, the material used makes it an ideal option to opt for when cycling in warm weather conditions.
