Firefox is an Indian Bicycle brand who have been around for a long time. From Kids Bicycles to Performance focused MTB’s, they have it all. Firefox has a wide range of hardtail MTB’s and we got the opportunity to test ride the Firefox Firestorm 27.5D 24-Speed Mountain Bike and here is what we thought.

The Firefox Firestorm 27.5D is the perfect all-rounder hardtail MTB for both urban roads and flat trails.
The Firefox Firestorm 27.5D is a new addition to their MTB range. This frame is built on a full Alloy frame. This frame comes with a nicely slanting top tube which ensured increased standover height for the rider which makes it safe for the rider on bumpy surfaces. The frame geometry is completely comfort focused with an open chested riding posture for the rider.
Being a hardtail the Firestorm 27.5D comes with a Zoom front suspension fork with enough travel to tackle bad roads and bumpy surfaces.
The Hardtail Alloy frame comes in 3 sizes, 17”, 18.5” and 19”
The Bicycle which I test rode came with Blue as the primary colour with Orange and Black as the secondary colours. The graphics were bold and racy which made the Bicycle look bright. Whilst most Indian Bicycle brands are going for matte finish, the gloss finish paint job on the Firestorm was of top quality and definitely looked premium.

Firefox have started using Microshift components on few of their newly released bicycle models. Microshift as a brand is on par with Shimano in terms of performance and quality. The Firestorm 27.5D comes equipped with a 8-Speed Microshift Mezzo RD-M25 at the rear along with Microshift Mezzo FD-M20 3-Speed at the front. The Microshift drivetrain on this Bicycle was both quick and smooth in shifting with no lag experienced during the test ride. The 24-Speed gearing system is controlled by Microshift’s TS38 trigger shifters.
This bicycle comes with smooth shifting and responsive Microshift Mezzo 24-Speed drivetrain.
The stopping power on this 27.5” Hardtail MTB is taken care of by a pair of JAK branded Mechanical Disc brakes. These brakes were of good quality and the disc plates were powerful in stopping amidst traffic and even on flat muddy surfaces.
The 680mm MTB handlebar was wide and gave optimum control for the rider when riding through fast paced flat trails and also when maneuvering through sharp turns.

The Firefox Firestorm 27.5D comes with Kenda 27.5” x 2.0” MTB tires. These tires have bulky treads and a uniform tread pattern which provided great traction on trails and flat muddy surfaces. The 27.5” wheelset provided a faster rolling resistance as well as being balanced on flat trails. The stock saddle from Firefox is ergonomic in design with enough cushioning for a soreness free ride.

This Alloy Hardtail MTB’s frame geometry was comfortable to ride along with a wide 680mm handlebar. The powerful Mechanical Disc brakes made it easy to stop on muddy trails and wet urban roads. The 27.5” Kenda tires were heavily treaded and fast rolling. The 24-Speed Microshift drivetrain were smooth in shifting and definitely on par with Shimano. Priced at Rs.25,000(as on 9th March 2021) the Firefox Firestorm 27.5D is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy an MTB for riding on both urban roads and flat trails.
