FitTrip is an Indian Bicycle brand which entered the market not so long ago. With their focus lying in MTBs, FitTrip have multiple models in their portfolio for different types of terrains and riders. We got the opportunity to test ride the FitTrip Soul SS and here is what we thought.
Weight: 13.9kgs
Usage: Fitness/Commute
The Fittrip Soul is built on a full Alloy frame. This frame is well designed, sturdy and lightweight. The ergonomics on the Soul is the perfect combination of comfort and aggressiveness for a Hybrid Bicycle. You will find yourself forward bent to an extent, which ensures that you are in an ideal position for balanced riding. The frame has a combination of circular, tapered and flat tube profiles across the frame sections. This results in optimizing strength at the key joints, while minimizing weight where larger tubing is not required.
The Soul which I test rode came in a full Aquamarine primary colour frame with black as the secondary colour for the text and graphics. The gloss finish paint job along with the Black coloured fork made the Bicycle design look uniform. The thin tubes and the paint job quality immensely enhanced the aesthetics of this Bicycle.
The Soul comes equipped with a single-speed drivetrain. The pedalling was easy on flat and rough surfaces. It is a bit of a struggle to pedal on inclines which will require extra effort. Positives of a single-speed drivetrain is that it is easy to maintain and simple to ride.
This Hybrid Bicycle’s stopping power is handled by a pair of Sprandom Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. These brakes were powerful, safe and balanced on dry and wet roads. Both interval braking and jamming of brakes felt in control when used during the test ride.
The handlebar on this Bicycle was both comfortable and wide enough to give the rider an open chested riding posture.
The Soul rolls on a pair of 700x35C Hartex slick tires. These tires were fast rolling on urban roads and the tread patterns were enough to get good traction on tar surfaces. The stock Fittrip Saddle was wide and had a lot of cushioning to make the rider is comfortable and soreness free on bumpy rides.
This a Hybrid Bicycle built on a strong yet lightweight Alloy frame which is comfortable to ride. The single-speed drivetrain was easy and smooth to pedal .The Sprandom Mechanical Disc brakes were powerful and balanced on both dry and wet roads. Priced at Rs.13,500(as on 15th February 2021) the Fittrip Soul SS is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Bicycle for fast commutes and general fitness.
