The travel was smooth in working during the test ride and the Mechanical Suspension lockout feature was helpful.

Frog is an Indian Bicycle brand; their range includes MTB, Hybrid and City bicycles for Men, Women and Children. This fairly new entrant to the Indian bicycle market has come out with an extensive range with numerous designs and colours. We got the opportunity to test ride the Frog Jaguar 29” and here is what we thought.

A comfortable alloy MTB with powerful mechanical disc brakes useful front suspension lockout.
The Frog Jaguar 29” is built around a hardtail Alloy frame. The Alloy frame has a conventional frame geometry, which was comfortable to ride. This frame was capable of taking in vibrations of the surface on rough trails and urban roads. This lightweight Alloy frame made it easier to accelerate and to ride on inclines.
This hardtail MTB comes with Zoom 389 front suspension fork with an impressive 80mm travel. This travel was smooth in working during the test ride and the Mechanical Suspension lockout feature was helpful in making the fork rigid for a smoother riding experience on flat surfaces.
This bicycle is built on a lightweight hardtail Alloy frame and comes in a standard 19” frame size
The Jaguar 29” from Frog that I test rode came with Black as the primary colour with Green as the secondary colour for the graphics and text. The matte finish paint job was top notch in quality. The Black saddle with bold ‘Frog’ text and the Jaguar symbol is definitely eye catching. The colour coded rims enhanced the aesthetics of this bicycle.

The Frog Jaguar 29” comes equipped with Shimano Tourney TY500 at the front and rear as derailleurs. These are entry-level gearing components in Shimano’s MTB hierarchy and they performed to their limits during the test ride. On rough urban roads and flat trails, these derailleurs were ideal for quick and short gear changes. The EZFire 21-Speed Shimano trigger shifters were easy to use and in easy reach from the handlebar grips.

This MTB’s stopping power is handled by a pair of Zoom Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. These brakes were powerful, safe and balanced on rough and smooth roads. Both interval and jamming of brakes felt in control when used during the test ride.
The Zoom Alloy handlebar on the Jaguar 29 was both comfortable and wide enough with a raise from the middle to give the rider an open chested riding posture.

The 29" x 2.25" DSI branded MTB tires on this Frog Jaguar were heavily treaded to generate a lot of traction on rough surfaces. The 29” circumference made it easy to ride over rough trails and urban roads.
The stock saddle was wide and had enough cushioning to keep the rider comfortable on bumpy rides.

This hardtail MTB is built on a lightweight Alloy frame with a comfortable riding posture. The Zoom front suspension fork absorbs vibrations of the surface and he suspension lockout helps ride faster on flat surfaces. The Zoom Mechanical Disc brakes were powerful and quick. The Jaguar logo, matte finish paint job and graphics were aesthetic with a matte finish paint job. Priced at Rs.20,499(as on 24th October 2019) the Frog Jaguar 29 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a bicycle for leisure trail rides and urban fitness rides.
