Fuji, one of world's oldest Bicycle brands have been constantly evolving with technology on their bicycles along with competitive pricing for the Indian market. We got the opportunity to test ride the Fuji Absolute 1.9 (2019) Hybrid Bicycle and here is what we thought.
Weight: 12.6 kgs
Usage: Commute/Fitness
The Fuji Absolute 1.9 (2019) is built on an AL2-SL Alloy Hybrid frame which is strong and yet lightweight. During the test ride the frame was able to handle the minor bumps and potholes on Urban roads without transferring too much vibration to the rider from the surface. The frame geometry is an ideal mix of comfort and aggressiveness with a slight lean in front required to reach the handlebar from the saddle. This helped in riding at a desired cadence without stressing out the body too much. This Hybrid Bicycle is also equipped with Hi-Ten Steel rigid fork.
The Absolute 1.9 (2019) which I test rode came with Satin Citrus Yellow as its primary colour on its frame with Dark Grey as the secondary colour in a few places. The graphics for the logo and text were minimal which made the design pattern simple yet elegant. The thin tubes made the Bicycle look sleek and elegant. The matte finish paint job quality definitely enhanced the overall aesthetics of this bicycle.
This Hybrid Bicycle comes with Shimano’s Tourney 3-Speed at the front and Shimano’s Acera 8-Speed at the rear. These derailleurs are mid-level in Shimano’s Hybrid/Trekking Bicycle derailleur hierarchy. During the test ride these derailleurs worked well with smooth and quick shifts without any lags. The 24-Speed Shimano Altus EF500 trigger shifters were swift and easy to use.
Tektro’s M280 Mechanical Disc brakes handle the braking performance on the Fuji Absolute 1.9 (2019). These brakes were powerful and balanced on Urban roads and felt safe to use even at top speeds and turns. Tektro’s brakes are trust worthy and are long lasting as well.
The Alloy handlebar was wide enough for a comfortable riding posture, a slight raise from the middle gives the rider an upright position while riding.
The Kenda Journey 700x32C Hybrid tires were well treaded to handle rough road and were sleek enough to zip through traffic on Urban roads. These tread patterns also make sure smaller punctures on urban roads are avoided.
The Selle Royal Milo+ Saddle was ergonomically designed with the perfect width to make sure the rider is comfortable during commute and long rides.
This Hybrid Bicycle offers the rider a comfortable riding position, without the slightest incidence of discomfort. The quality of wheel set also assures stability of the ride and smooth performance. The powerful Tektro Mechanical Disc brakes and a smooth shifting 24-Speed drivetrain make this bicycle a complete performance hybrid. Priced at Rs.39,990(as on 29th January 2020) the Fuji Absolute 1.9 (2019) is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a performance focused Hybrid for Commuting and longer fitness rides.
