The Taiwanese manufacturer Giant is one of the World’s leading Bicycle manufacturers. They have Bicycles for professionals as well as amateur rider. Having great technology and design capability in every Bicycle they make, brings out top notch quality in all aspects. We got the opportunity to test ride the Giant Stance 29 2 full suspension MTB and here is what we thought.

The Giant Stance 29 2 (2022) is a fully loaded performance packed full suspension MTB built for all types of trails and Cross Country XC races.
The Giant Stance 29 2 (2022) is built on an ALUXX grade full Alloy frame. This Bicycle is built for cross country and hardcore trail rides on the roughest of terrains. The frame geometry is aggressive yet comfortable to ride thanks to its low and slanting top tube. This low top tube also makes sure there is more standover clearance which makes it safe when riding on bumpy trails.
The Giant Crest front suspension fork comes with a massive 130mm travel and a hydraulic manual lock-out which functioned smoothly during the test ride. The Flex Point rear suspension with a 120mm travel is immensely useful for riding on the most unpredictable cross-country trails.

This XC full suspension MTB which we test rode came with Gunmetal Black as the primary colour with no secondary colour. The gloss finish paint job quality was shiny with elegant graphics. The internal cable routing for the gears not only made the Bicycle look neat but also protected the cables from dirt.

The gearing on this Full Suspension MTB is handled by Shimano Deore M5120 Shadow+ rear derailleur. This 10-Speed derailleur was smooth and precise in shifting during the test ride and was suited for trail rides which require constant change in speed. This 1x10-Speed drivetrain gave enough depth of speed for steep climbs on trails and also quick accelerations. The Deore M4100 rapid fire shifters were easy to control this 10-Speed gearing system.

Shimano’s BR-MT200 Hydraulic Disc brakes are top end performance brakes specifically made for fast trails. These brakes on the Stance 29 2 worked on feather touches and transferred the braking power accordingly in a balanced manner.
The Giant Connect Trail handlebar at first looked very wide but this helps in keeping the Bicycle in full control on fast trail rides and races with sharp corners.
Shimano’s Hydraulic Disc brakes were powerful and well suited for fast and rough trails
The Giant Stance 29 2 rolls on a pair of Maxxis Forekaster 29” x 2.25” MTB tires. These tires were heavily treaded with enough rubber compounds to keep the tires safe from smaller punctures. The 29” circumference helps with fast rolling on the roughest of trails.
The Giant Romero Saddle attached to a very useful and swiftly working dropper seat post which is ergonomically designed specifically for cross country trails with the perfect length and width. The dropper Seat post’s control is given on the right side of the handlebar.

This full suspension MTB is installed with performance packed components like the Deore 10-Speed drivetrain and the powerful Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes. The 130mm front suspension with lock-out and smooth rear suspension made the ride less bumpy and gives the rider complete control on fast trails.
