GoZero Mile: ChooseMyBicycle.com Expert Review

The GoZero Mile is built using a Steel hardtail frame. This Steel frame material was sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding heavy usage. The Bicycle comes in a single frame size which is comfortable to ride with an almost straight back and open chested riding posture. This Hardtail Electric Bicycle comes with Orbishox front suspension fork which works well to absorb vibrations from rough roads and potholes.

The GoZero Mile comes with a matte Black frame with Blue and White graphics. The branding was big and bold. The rims on the bicycle were Orange in colour, making it a good contrast to the Black frame. In addition to its neat design and paint job, the battery was shaped well and in a full black casing to blend in with the black frame.

The Battery and Motor is what makes or breaks an Electric Bicycle. The GoZero Mile comes with a 250W brushless DC motor located at the hub of the rear wheel which is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery, with a capacity of 7.8Ah. The battery takes about 3.5-4 hours to charge and can last for 30-45 kilometres per charge. The mileage can fluctuate according to the terrain, riding mode and weight of the rider.

The Bicycle functions on two operating modes, one being Pedal-Assist and the second being Hub and Throttle driven. In the Pedal-Assist mode, there are three levels - Low, Medium and High - each determining the amount of momentum provided by the Pedal-Assist system. In the Throttle mode, one achieves additional momentum by simply moving the throttle on the right grip of the handlebar, similar to the accelerator on scooters and motorbikes. The pick-up was rather impressive while using both modes, and the power is sufficient to effortlessly conquer climbs and head winds.

This Electric Bicycle from GoZero comes with a Single-Speed drivetrain. Not having additional gears on an Electric Bicycle is not a setback as the electric power will be doing most of the work. For short commuting needs there will be no necessity for gears and this Single-Speed drivetrain is also easy to maintain. The lack of gearing components also decreases the overall weight of the bicycle a little and makes it simple to ride.

The GoZero Mile comes with Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and back. Since Electric Bicycles deliver speeds that require no effort, braking is an important component, in case one needs to get the E-Bicycle to a full stop within moments. The Mechanical Disc brakes on this E-Bicycle worked efficiently, giving me confidence to ride without inhibitions in heavy city traffic.

The handlebar on this E-Bicycle is not just wide but also has an inward curving shaping making it a proper Cruiser type handlebar. This makes the riding posture very comfortable and relaxed.

The GoZero Mile comes with Aviator 26” x 1.95” Urban tires. These tires ensured that the wheels were fast rolling and has a good grip. 26” tires are great in terms of on road performance with the likelihood of potholes and occasional rough and bumpy roads. The tires are sure to work well providing adequate traction on both wet and dry surfaces.

The saddle on this bicycle was well cushioned throughout, leaving no room for saddle sores or general discomfort when used on longer rides.
