Hero’s Sprint series is a wide range of bicycles for teenagers and adults. This series of bicycles are all built for comfortable riding on both rough and smooth roads and also flat trails. We got the opportunity to test ride the Hero Sprint Brooklyn 27.5 and here is what we thought.
Weight: 14.4 kgs
Usage: Commute/Leisure
The Hero Sprint Brooklyn 27.5 is built on a full rigid Alloy frame. The slightly slanting top tube and simple geometry made sure the rider has a comfortable riding posture. The Alloy frame makes the bicycle feel light and easy to accelerate and also ride on inclines. The strength of the Alloy tubes makes sure the bicycle can withstand a lot of hard hitting of the surface on rough urban roads. The rigid steel fork was thin and could take in the vibrations from the bumps and speed breakers.
This hybrid bicycle which I test rode came in a full Emerald Green frame with Turquoise Blue as the secondary colour for the graphics and text. The matte finish paint job was of great quality which is a positive for a bicycle at this price. The colour coded fork and saddle along with racy graphics made the bicycle look aesthetic.
The Brooklyn comes with a single-speed drivetrain. The 18 teeth freewheel along with a 40 teeth crankset were perfect in size to pedal fast and with minimal effort on urban roads. Riding on inclines and flyovers did require a bit extra effort off the saddle but for short commutes this drivetrain is sufficient.
The Power branded V-brakes handle the braking on the Brooklyn 27.5. These brakes were powerful enough to bring the bicycle to a sudden halt and also felt balanced during the test ride on rough urban roads.
The Spur Alloy 660mm handlebar comes with a raise in the middle which made the posture comfortable to ride.
This single-speed City Bicycle comes with 27.5” x 1.95” stock tires. These tires are treaded heavily and are definitely ideal for wet and rough city roads. These tires along with strong rims made it perfect to take it out on single tracks too.
The sleek urban saddle on this bicycle is wide and also has enough cushioning on the widest parts to keep the rider comfortable.
This City Bicycle has a strong and lightweight 6061 Alloy frame which was easy to pedal and comfortable to ride. The design and graphics were aesthetic with 2 colour variants. The Power branded V-brakes and the 27.5” tires made it easy to ride and stop on rough urban roads. Priced at Rs.9,395 (as on 30th August 2019) the Hero Sprint Brooklyn 27.5 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a bicycle for commutes and leisure rides for fitness.
