Hero’s Sprint series has a wide range of bicycles for teenagers and adults. This series of bicycles are all built for comfortable riding on both rough and smooth roads as well as flat trails. We got the opportunity to test ride the Hero Sprint Manhattan 700C and here is what we thought.
Weight: 13.8 kgs
Usage: Commute/Leisure
The Hero Sprint Manhattan 700C is built on a full rigid Alloy frame. The slanting top tube and simple geometry made sure the rider has a comfortable riding posture. The alloy frame makes the bicycle feel light and easy to accelerate. The strength of the Alloy tubes makes sure the bicycle can withstand a lot of hard hitting of the surface on rough urban roads. The rigid Steel fork is thin and can take in the vibrations from the bumps and speed breakers.
This Hybrid Bicycle which I test rode came in a full White frame with Blue and Black as the secondary colours for the graphics and text. The colour coded fork and saddle along with the elegant graphics made the bicycle look aesthetic.
The Manhattan comes with a Single-Speed drivetrain. The 18 teeth freewheel along with a 40 teeth crankset were perfect in size to pedal fast and with minimal effort on urban roads. Riding on inclines and flyovers did require extra effort off the saddle but for short commutes this drivetrain is sufficient for smooth pedalling.
The Power branded V-Brakes handle the braking on the Manhattan 700C. These brakes are powerful enough to bring the bicycle to a sudden halt and also felt balanced during the test ride on rough and wet urban roads.
The Spur Alloy 660mm handlebar comes with a raise in the middle which made the posture ‘open-chested’ and comfortable to ride.
This Single-Speed Hybrid comes with a pair of 700x38c stock tires. These tires are treaded evenly and are perfect for wet and rough city roads. These tires along with strong Alloy rims made it perfect to take it out on single tracks and rough urban roads.
The cushioned Urban Saddle on this bicycle is wide and also has enough cushioning on the widest part to keep the rider comfortable.
This Hybrid is built on a lightweight 6061 Alloy frame. The geometry is comfort focused and relaxed to ride. The single-speed drivetrain is smooth to pedal and cost effective to maintain. The 700x38c tires are fast rolling and the Power branded V-Brakes are powerful and balanced to stop. Priced at Rs.9,320 (as on 4th October 2019) the Hero Sprint Manhattan 700C is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a bicycle for commutes, fitness and leisure rides.
