Started in 1979 with City Cruiser Bicycles, Jamis have come a long way with a wide range of City Bikes, Road Bikes and MTBs. We got the opportunity to test ride the Jamis Allegro A3 Hybrid Bicycle and here is what we thought.

The Jamis Allegro A3 offers a super smooth riding experience with powerful and easy to maintain V-brakes and easy gear shifting.
The tough and lightweight 6061 Alloy frame on the Allegro A3 is built to be lightweight. The tubes are butted which means that excess material is removed from low stress areas of the frame, thus reducing the weight without affecting durability or ride quality. The frame tubes are shaped to offer a riding experience that remains stiff and smooth.
The Hi-Tensile fork on this Bicycle gives you confident steering control. This composite fork on the Allegro A3 is strong and can handle hard bumps on urban roads.

The Jamis Allegro A3 which we test rode came in a Thunder Grey frame colour with Black as the secondary colour for graphics. The gloss finish paint job quality was top notch and made the frame look shiny. The thin seat stays and chain stays made the Bicycle look sleek.
The graphics and design were simple yet elegant.
The Jamis Allegro A3 features a full Shimano Tourney drivetrain. The Tourney derailleur at the front and rear are entry-level but were super smooth in shifting and is ideal for commuting and fitness rides on urban roads. The 3x7-Speed Shimano EF500 trigger shifters were basic and had an easy spring action.

The Promax linear V-brakes at the front and rear were reliable and balanced during the test ride. The reaction time from the levers to the brakes was quick. These brakes were good enough for wet and dry urban roads and the quality and performance of these brakes were definitely on par with entry-level Mechanical Disc brakes.
The Jamis 600mm riser handlebar was wide and made sure the rider has an open chested riding posture. The raise is a gradual curve which makes it look good as well.

The 700c wheels on the Allegro A3 offer a Road Bicycle like rolling speed and efficiency. This Hybrid Bicycle features double wall aluminium Alloy rims so they are strong enough to take a pounding on the road day-after-day. The Kenda Eurotrek tires are wider than you get on a drop bar Road Bicycle so they offer a little more cushioning for a smoother ride even on uneven road surfaces. These Kenda tires feature a tread pattern that offers much better traction in the wet than simple slick tires alongside puncture protection to significantly reduce the chances of a flat.
The Jamis stock touring comfort Saddle was ergonomically designed and had a lot of cushioning to keep the rider sore free.

This Hybrid Bicycle is lightweight thanks to its Alloy frame which helps to ride efficiently. The riding posture is comfortable and the Promax V-Brakes are quick to react and are powerful. With elegant graphics and a gloss finish paint job this Bicycle is premium not only in performance but in looks as well. Priced at Rs.42,000(as on 31st December 2022) the Jamis Allegro A3 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Bicycle for commuting and fitness purposes.
