Java is an International Bicycle brand with a wide range of MTB’s, Hybrids and Road Bicycles. This brand forayed into India a few years back and has had a consistent release of new Bicycle models every year. Java is known for its stylish design and value for money components on its Bicycles. We got the opportunity to test ride the Java Pro Fuga 3 and here is what we thought.
Weight: 14.9 kgs
Usage: Fitness/Trail
The Java Pro Fuga 3 is built on a lightweight full Alloy frame. The geometry is comfort focused and this is needed for fast and controlled rides on trails. This frame has an almost straight top tube, smoothly welded frame and a short thin rear triangle for increased stability.
The stock front suspension fork comes with a working travel of 100-120mm travel which helped make the ride comfortable when rolling over bumpy surfaces.
Java’s designs are simple yet elegant with smooth welding of the tubes. The Bicycle I test rode came in a Black gloss finish frame with Blue and White as the secondary colours for text and graphics. The Black rims and seat were in good sync with the Black frame colour.
The Pro Java 3 gets a 3x7-Speed Shimano Tourney drivetrain, with three gears in front and seven in the back, giving you the capability to climb steep inclines and go fast on urban roads. This 21-Speed gear system is controlled by Shimano's trigger shifters. During the test ride the gears felt smooth to shift with no lag.
The Duoder Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear on the Java Pro Fuga 3 were powerful and ideal for safe and quick stops on both trails and rough/wet urban roads. The brake levers were in easy reach from the handlebar grip and easy to engage.
The Alloy handlebar was lengthy with a slight raise from the middle. This gave me total control over the Bicycle during fast turns.
The Java Pro Fuga 3 rolls on a pair of 27.5” x 1.95” MTB tires. These tires were the perfect blend of grip and speed. The heavy and uniform tread pattern made it easier to roll on hard surfaces and the 27.5” circumference and alloy rims made it faster.
The stock saddle was both ergonomic in design and had ample cushioning to keep the rider comfortable on the bumpiest of rides.
This hardtail MTB is built on an Alloy frame and has a comfortable riding posture. The front suspension fork made the ride easier on bumpy surfaces. The 21-Speed gears and Mechanical Disc brakes made it possible to ride long distances and on muddy and wet surfaces. Priced at Rs.25,900(as on 20th July 2021) the Java Pro Fuga 3 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy an MTB for both trail and urban rides.
