Java is an international Bicycle brand with a wide range of MTB’s, Hybrid and Road Bicycles. This brand forayed into India a few years back and has had a consistent release of new bicycle models every year. Java is known for its stylish design and value for money components. We got the opportunity to test ride the Java Vittoria and here is what we thought.
Weight: 9.7 kgs
Usage: Racing/Fitness
The Java Vittoria is built on a lightweight full Carbon frame. The geometry is aggressive and this is needed for fast and compact rides. This frame has a tapered head tube, a smoothly welded frame and an integrated seat post clamp. The aero dynamic tube profiles make sure of the smooth reintegration of air. The Aero flattened Carbon fork was bladed and helped with keeping the front of the bicycle light.
Java’s designs are cutting edge and futuristic with smooth welding of the tubes. The Bicycle I test rode came in a Black gloss finish frame with Neon Yellow and a lighter shade of Blue for graphics and text. The flat aero tube profiles along with the bladed carbon fork and an integrated seat tube clamp immensely enhanced the aesthetics of this bicycle.
The Java Vittoria is equipped with a full Shimano 105 Road drivetrain. 105 is Shimano’s entry into a full performance drivetrain. It sits beneath Dura-Ace, Ultegra and Di2. During the test ride both at the front and rear, the gears shifted cleanly, smoothly and quietly. I never missed a gear or felt the shifter being unresponsive when I needed to change gear quickly. The 2x11-Speed integrated Shimano 105 shifters were easy to use with feather light pushes to change the gears.
TRP’s Caliper brakes handle the braking power on the Vittoria. These brakes were lightweight and powerful on flat tarmacs and balanced on wet roads. The design of the brakes allows sufficient air flow to reduce drag.
The Deca Alloy drop handlebars were of the perfect length for optimum control of the cycle on steep turns and also gives a compact riding posture.
The Continental Ultra Sport 700x23C slick tires on the Java Vittoria are race specific tires built to be lightweight and reliable. These tires make sure you get maximum traction on dry and wet tarmacs. They are well supported by lightweight deep-dish Decaf rims.
The Decaf Saddle was not only stylish, but has a level of support and cushioning that suits the rider on faster rides just as much as long distance rides. The integrated seat post clamp was shaped aerodynamically.
This Road Bicycle comes with a full Shimano 105 drivetrain and Tektro’s Road Caliper brakes. The lightweight Carbon frame with a Carbon fork kept the overall weight less at just 9.7 kgs. The design and graphics were aesthetic and the gloss finish was smooth and of top notch quality. Priced at Rs.1,50,000 (as on 12th February 2020) the Java Vittoria is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Race Road Bicycle with aero-dynamic profiling.
