One of T.I Cycles most successful brand names, Mach City has grown immensely in terms of popularity with the masses looking for an affordable city bicycle. From the initial line of BSA Mach 22 bicycles to the Munich Series, this brand has indeed come a long way. The brand has a 2018 range that is ready to hit the markets soon. We got the opportunity to test the new Mach City Munich Single Speed, and here is all you need to know about this bicycle.
The Mach City Munich Single Speed has been made using a lightweight hybrid steel frame. While steel is known to be on the heavier side, the design of this bicycle and the welding on the frame contributes towards reducing the overall weight of this bicycle. The geometry of the frame ensures a comfortable, upright riding position. This bicycle comes equipped with a rigid fork. Additionally, there are mounting provisions for a water bottle holder, a rear carrier and mudguards at the front and back.
The Mach City Munich Single Speed has been designed keeping simplicity and the appeal of color coding in mind. The welding on the edges of the frame looked simple and neat. The bicycle we test road came in a black and orange colour combination. The main frame of the bicycle is in black, while the fork is coloured in orange with colour coded branding and brake cables. The bicycle is available in two colour variants - Black and Blue and Black and Orange, and in one sizing option - 19”. The colours used on this bicycle are sure to catch attention of others on the road.
This Mach City Munich is a straightforward Single-Speed bicycle. The bicycle is ideal for city commuting and leisure riding. The bicycle could require extra efforts while using it on elevated areas in the city, like on flyovers or in cities with variable terrains. In today’s world of technological advancements, straightforward single-speed bicycles are losing their base and the introduction of the single speed line by Mach City is reviving their popularity.
The Mach City Munich Single Speed comes equipped with Alloy V brakes that offer adequate stopping power for city usage. However, the brakes are not as effective when riding on wet and slippery surfaces, and require some extra force to bring the bicycle to a complete stop.
The handlebar on the Munich Single Speed, has a slight upward curvature thus ensuring a comfortable, upright riding position. The width of the handlebar allows for superior control and maneuverability in crowded riding conditions. The handlebar grips were on the harder side, which might affect cyclists using the bicycle on longer duration rides.
The Mach City Munich Single Speed comes equipped with Ralson 700x35C hybrid tires. The tires are fast rolling, with enough traction for city usage and occasional longer distance riding. The front wheel is fitted with a quick release, which makes removing and putting the wheel back on much simpler. The treading and width of the tires makes the bicycle more stable and balanced on bumpy surfaces.
This bicycle comes equipped with a comfortable foam saddle that is wide enough to comfortably accommodate one’s sit bones. Additionally, the seat post has a quick release option, making adjusting the height of the saddle easier on the go. The overall ride quality was pretty smooth and favorable, especially considering the bicycle is aimed at city rides.

Comfortable for rides up to 30 kms. Maintenance is easy. Not a bicycle to withstand on rough roads, due to rigid fork. Braking could have been better for this cost. A good commuter bicycle for this price range.
Amazing bike ever owned! I had hero Ranger before and fed up of gear system and stuff like that. But, Mach city munich has single speed which means easy to maintain and clean easily. Am a 15 year old boy and I love this cycle. Munich is even faster t...
