As a cyclist and a bicycle reviewer with growing knowledge, I focus on learning the technical aspects of bicycles while sharing honest, practical insights based on real-world riding experiences. My aim is to provide clear and relatable reviews for riders at all levels.
Well made frame which is very comfortable to ride
Provides good cushioning when needed.
Provides ample combination for a lot of riding formats
Brakes are from JAK, does it’s job
the tire provided good grip and added to the comfort riding.
The Zozila prime comes to you from OMObikes India. This is one such bike that surpassed my expectations. A versatile bike to take on different styles of riding. Use it as a hybrid or trail or just ride casually and have fun.
Weight: 15kg
Usage:Leisure/Trail/Commuting
OMO Zozila Prime is made from 6061 aluminium tubing. The review unit was a perfect fit out of the box, just the seat height adjustment was required. The build quality of the frame is very good. There is a single bottle holder mount and a specific mount for your side stand. And few mounting options for a rear rack. There are fenders provided on this bike but it doesn’t seem to be useful, if you ride in rain you will get drenched in mud no matter what. The bike comes in two sizes 17 inch and 19 inch frame sizes which should be suitable for most of the riders. It provides a comfortable riding position and has enough adjustments available to fit to your height and reach. The bike looks big when seen in person, slightly intimidating as well. Don’t be fooled by the size, it's a pure hearted gentle giant. It will listen to you from the get-go.
It is a simple looking bike. There is one solid blue colour available which is a little dull in colour but, after testing this bike I got to know that it's simple look makes it an incognito bike. I wish there would be a small decal to let you know which model bike it is. The geometry and positioning make it look big. But it’s a very easy to handle bike. The 50 mm travel suspension is more than sufficient to absorb the jolts and give a nice pump for you to go airborne and avoid rough patches (bunny hopping machine). The locked condition gives an option to push the bike hard on flat roads to reach good speeds.
OMO Zozila gets a basic set of gearing which works well. The shifters are Shimano Easy fire EF500 (Altus) which combines with Tourney 3 speed front derailleur and an 8 speed Acera rear derailleur. The prowheel crank-set gets 42-34-24 teeth and the cassette is Shimano Altus 11-34 megarange series. The wide range of gearing makes this bike suitable for a lot of different riding styles. The front derailleur is strong when shifting down, which might take little time to get used to. The rare derailleur gets a cage to protect it during small falls.
The JAK super brakes are one of the most common mechanical disc brake callipers, these are paired with 160mm rotors. The brakes needed some time to wear initially to start biting well. The review unit struggled to stop, so had to start braking well before. A change of brake pads could solve this problem. The handlebar is approximately 600mm wide which gives a good anchor point to handle the bike in any terrain. There might be a need to adjust the position of the brake and shifter combo to switch gears easily.
The wheel set on both front and back are heavy and runs 29x2.1-inch tyres from Ralson. These felt good during the ride, the rolling resistance was felt but it's manageable. The width of the tyre was suitable for various conditions. On flat roads I was able to push to good speed. The grip on loose surfaces and gravel was very good.
The best part of the bike is the saddle. My bum thanked me during the test ride. It's one of the most comfortable saddles I have sat on. The cushion on it was perfect enough to handle my weight and without any hesitation I would be able to ride longer distances or comfortably sit and ride on the trails.
For the current price of ₹21,748 this bike is a steal. If you are looking for a good low-budget XC or MTB bike, give this a try and you will not be disappointed. The comfort and ease of handling surpass every other aspect of this bike.
