Police Bikes is an International Bicycle brand originating from Indonesia with a wide range of Bicycles. This brand has just launched in India with a limited number of models. We got the opportunity to test ride the Police California 1.0 and here is what we thought.

The Police California 1.0 is a lightweight and versatile Mountain Bike suitable for both urban rides and moderate trails.
The Police California 1.0 is built around a Hardtail Alloy frame. The frame is strong but not too heavy for a MTB, which ensures that it can handle a lot of hard hitting from the surface. The frame is designed to be built taller from the ground up, giving larger ground clearance.
The Stock suspension fork was smooth in functioning during the test ride with a 80-100mm working travel making sure that most of the vibrations of the surface are absorbed. The suspension lock-out was easy to use and was useful in riding faster on flatter patches.
This Hardtail Alloy frame comes in a standard 17” frame size
This MTB which we test rode came in a gloss Black primary colour with Grey and Blue as the secondary colours for graphics and text. The sleek chain and seat stays looks elegant on the frame. The graphics were simple yet bright with a colour coded fork, saddle and rims. The lengthy handlebar and heavily treaded tires gave this Bicycle the perfect rugged MTB look.
The Police California 1.0 comes in 2 colour variants; Gloss Black with Grey/Blue and Light Grey with Red/Blue
Shimano’s Tourney 3-Speed at the front and 8-Speed at the rear, form the drivetrain on the Police California 1.0. These gearing components from Shimano were entry-level performance MTB components and were smooth and quick in transmission during the test ride. The 3x8-Speed gear range was enough for steep climbs and quick accelerations.

The Simaers branded Hydraulic Disc brakes on the Police California 1.0 were as powerful as it can get on a mid-level Hardtail MTB. During the test ride, the brakes were powerful and felt balanced to use on both wet and dry conditions.
The stock handlebar was lengthy and comes with a slight raise from the middle, thus making it comfortable for both occasional urban rides and trail rides.

This Hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Deli 27.5” x 2.25” tires. These tires are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly and rolls fast on flatter surfaces.
The stock Police MTB saddle is perfectly designed and is ergonomic to make sure the rider is safe and sore free on a bumpy ride.

This MTB has a strong yet lightweight Alloy frame. Shimano’s Tourney 24-Speed drivetrain is smooth and accurate in shifting. The powerful Simaers branded Hydraulic Disc brakes make it perfectly safe to brake when riding fast on trails. The heavily treaded Deli 27.5” tires provide enough traction and rolls fast. Priced at Rs.29,990(as on 31st October 2022) the Police California 1.0 is an ideal choice MTB for moderate trail rides and occasional urban rides.
