We got to test ride the Triad X2 Hybrid Bicycle and here is what we thought.
Weight: 13.5 kgs
Category: Fitness/Commute/Leisure
The Triad X2 is a Hybrid Bicycle built on a strong rigid Steel frame. This rigid frame is well designed, sturdy and definitely lightweight. The geometry on the X2 is the ideal example of comfort on Urban Bicycle. You will find yourself open chested and with a straight back, which ensures that you are in an ideal position for comfortable and stress free riding. The frame has a circular tube profile across the frame sections, which results in optimizing strength at the key joints, while minimizing weight in areas where it is not required. The rigid Steel fork was thin in profile and helped in keeping the weight minimal at the front.
The X2 from Triad is a simple and elegant looking Hybrid Bicycle. The frame design is sleek with smoothly welded tube profiles, along with a superior quality gloss finish paint job. The bicycle which I test rode came in a full Light Grey primary colour with Orange and Black as the secondary colours for the graphics and text.
The Triad X2 is a 7-Speed Bicycle equipped with a Shimano Tourney 7-Speed rear derailleur and is controlled by a 7-Speed trigger shifter. When on the test ride, the shifting was smooth and precise with absolutely no lag. The trigger shifter was easy to operate, requiring an easy push and pull to shift between gears. These gears were efficient in shifting and the 7-Speed range was more than adequate for urban commutes, fitness and leisure rides.
Standard V-brakes handle the braking on the X2. While many entry-level Bicycles are moving to Mechanical Disc brakes there are only a handful of Bicycles which are still using V-brakes. Good quality V-Brakes like the ones used in Triad X2 are definitely as good as and sometimes even better than most entry-level Mechanical Disc brakes, in terms of stopping power and maintenance.
The Triad X2 comes with a raiser handlebar which was wide and gave an open chested riding posture to the rider. This stem is adjustable and lets you raise the handlebar height vertically up to 5cms. This makes the riding posture even more comfortable.
The Triad X2 rolls on a pair of slick 700x35C tires. The treading and size of the tire were ideal for city commuting and long rides. The rolling resistance was fast and the tread pattern provided enough traction on wet roads as well. The stock X2 saddle has the ideal cushioning and width for a sore free ride.
The Triad X2 is a sleek and comfortable to ride Hybrid Bicycle built on a strong yet lightweight Steel frame. The 7-Speed Shimano gears along with powerful V-Brakes combine to give a smooth and safe riding experience. The frame geometry and riser handlebar ensured the rider had a straight back riding posture. Available at a discounted price of Rs.12,848(as on 1st April 2021) the Triad X2 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Hybrid Bicycle for commuting and fitness needs.
