United Bike is one the largest Bicycle brands in Indonesia that provides high quality products with the latest technology and innovations by a team of dedicated professionals. We got the opportunity to test ride the United Gianicolo 700C touring road bicycle and here is what we thought.
Weight: 13.3kgs
Usage: Trail/Fitness
The United Gianicolo 700c is built around a full Steel frame. This frame is strongly welded at the joints, reducing the impact when riding through rough roads. While being strong this frame is also extremely durable making it a perfect build. The endurance frame geometry with a taller head tube and longer chainstay made the riding posture comfortable. The rigid Steel fork was equally strong and ensured the front of the Bicycle can handle rough patches.
The United Giancolo 700C which I test rode came in a full Matte Blue colour. The matte finish paint job definitely enhanced the colour to make it look smooth. The front/rear fenders and rear carrier were not only useful but also made the Bicycle look like a fully loaded Touring Road Bicycle. The main stand is a very useful addition for stable parking on uneven surfaces and for easy maintenance.
The gearing in the United Gianicolo 700c is handled by a Shimano Tourney 2-Speed at the front and a Shimano Tourney 7-Speed at the rear. Having 14-Speed range in total ensures extended range of speed which provides more power. The Shimano Tourney 14-Speed paddle shifters were easy to use.
The stopping power in the United Gianicolo 700c is taken care of by a pair of stock Mechanical Disc brakes. These disc brakes are powerful and balanced which felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.
The United Alloy drop handlebar is 420mm in width and is comfortable to hold on to on the hoods and flats as well.
The Kenda tires impressed us during the test ride. The 700x38c tires were treaded sufficiently to tackle bad roads. These tires were fast rolling on flatter surfaces and could handle wet roads with ease. The Touring specific saddle was wide with enough cushioning.
This is an ideal entry-level Touring Road Bicycle which can handle 100km+ rides comfortably. Sprinting might not be one of its traits but climbing is quite good with this durable frame. With an aesthetic matte finish paint job, Kenda tires and Mechanical Disc brakes the United Gianicolo priced at Rs.37,300(as on 2nd April 2022) is a value for money entry-level Touring Bicycle.
