United Miami 4.0 29: ChooseMyBicycle.com Expert Review

The United Miami 4.0 29 comes with a hydroformed aluminium frame with internal cable routing. The hardtail frame has a slanting top tube, which provided an aggressive ride position, but still gives you supreme control on trails. Both the top tube and bottom tube aren’t circular, they are flat which makes the tubes sleek and keeps the weight in check.

During the test ride the Suntour XCM30 front suspension fork with its 100mm travel worked well both on harsh urban roads and rough trails. The Suspension lockout was a useful feature for efficient riding on smooth and flat surfaces.

The United Miami 4.0 29 which I test rode came in a Black primary colour on the frame with Bronze as the secondary colour for graphics. The matte finish paint job enhanced the colour schemes to make it look stylish. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and the colour coordinated rims and forks made it look aesthetic.

The gearing in the United Miami 4.0 29 is handled by Shimano Altus 3-Speed at the front and Shimano Alivio 9-Speed at the rear. Having 9 gears at the rear ensures extended range which provides more power. The Shimano Altus 27-Speed rapid gear shifters were easy to use.

The stopping power in the United Miami 4.0 29 is taken care of by a pair of Shimano MT200 Hydraulic Disc brakes. These disc brakes are powerful and balanced and felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.

The United Alloy handlebar is lengthy with a very slight rise from the middle. This gives the rider a comfortable and open chested riding posture which helps provide great control over the bicycle while on fast paced trail rides.

The Kenda MTB tires impressed us during the test ride. The 29” x 2.10” tires were heavily treaded with bulky buttons and covered the edges as well. These tires were fast rolling on flatter surfaces and could handle rough patches with ease. The stock Trail specific saddle was wide with enough cushioning.
