Veloce started its journey back in 2014 to provide affordable Premium Bicycles for cycling enthusiasts, while maintaining all European ISO standards. Veloce have a wide range of MTB and Hybrid Bicycles with quality specs at a reasonable price point. From their Hybrid range we got to test ride the Veloce Scalo 1.0 and here is what we thought.

The Veloce Scalo 1.0 is built on a lightweight Alloy frame. This frame has thin tubes with neatly welded edges. The conventional geometry was comfortable to ride with a slanting top tube. The frame was responsive and definitely helped ride fast and contributed to easy climbing on flyovers and other road inclines. The rigid fork was bladed in shape which made it light at the front.
The Veloce Scalo 1.0 which we test rode came in a full Black frame with Grey and Red as the secondary colours for the text and graphics. The matte finish paint job along with the contrasting Grey and Red colours made the Bicycle stand out on the road. The thin tubes and colour coded saddle immensely enhanced the aesthetics of this Bicycle.
The Veloce Scalo 1.0 is equipped with Shimano’s Tourney at the front and rear as derailleurs. This is an entry-level Hybrid Bicycle groupset from Shimano and they shifted smoothly during the test ride with no lags. The Shimano 21-Speed trigger shifters were easy to use.
The braking components on the Scalo 1.0 are V-brakes. The Alhonga V-Brakes at the front and rear were reliable and balanced during the test ride. The reaction time from the levers to the brakes was quick. These brakes were good enough for wet as well as rough urban roads. These V-brakes are as good as any mechanical disc brakes at this price.
The 660mm Alloy handlebar on this Bicycle was wide enough to give the rider an open chested riding posture.
The Veloce Scalo 1.0 rolls on a pair of 700x35C tires. These tires were fast rolling on Urban roads and the tread patterns was enough to get good traction on tar surfaces.
The stock Veloce saddle was wide and had a lot of cushioning to make the rider is comfortable and soreness free on bumpy rides.
This a Hybrid Bicycle built on a lightweight Alloy frame which is comfortable to ride. The Shimano Tourney 21-Speed drivetrain was smooth in shifting .The V-brakes were powerful and balanced on both dry and wet roads. Priced at Rs.23,990(as on 30th November 2022) the Veloce Scalo 1.0 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Bicycle for fast commutes and fitness focused rides.
