Velocity is an Australian company founded in Brisbane in 1989 that manufactures hand-made high quality performance bicycle components and accessories like rims, wheels, hubs, etc. In 2012, they moved to Florida in the United States on America to widen their horizon. We got an opportunity to review their plastic bottle cage aptly titled “Bottle Trap”, and here’s what we think.
Features
Lightweight, flexible and available in multiple colours
The Velocity “Bottle Trap” bottle cage attracted us at the beginning itself with a name like that. As the name suggests, the bottle cage is designed to provide a firm grip on the bottle to ensure that the bottle does not slip out of the cage while riding. Mountain bikers mostly prefer the Bottle Trap, as their terrain involves a lot of up and down movements that usually end up with the bottle jumping out of the cage and getting lost or damaged on the trail.
Made of hard plastic, the bottle cage can be easily fitted on any bicycle, and is compatible with hydration bottles of all shapes and sizes. Weighing at just 35 grams, this lightweight and flexible bottle cage will surely add more functionality to your bicycle.

The Velocity Bottles Trap has been designed with the needs of mountain bikers and CX riders, as they are constantly riding on uneven terrains that have a lot of bumps and jumps that might cause the bottle to be ejected out of the bottle cage. The design of the bottle trap is optimized to control the bottle from sliding back and forth in the cage. The innovative but simple design ensures that not just cycling specific hydration bottles, but even regular bottles fit into the cage snugly, making the Bottle Trap a universal bottle holder.
The bottle trap can be fitted on any bicycle that has a bottle cage mounting provi-sion. It is designed to fit on longer and shorter sized cycles, and the fitting can be ad-justed as per the bicycle. Bottles that are fixed on the Bottle Trap fit tightly and stay put.
