The Trail 7 (2019) is built using Cannondale's famous S.A.V.E built in Suspension tech Alloy frame. This frame has a tapered head tube and smooth welded edges to keep most of the material at places in the frame, which are capable of taking in the vibrations of the trails. The slanting top tube makes the ride geometry aggressive and comfortable as well. The SR Suntour XCM front suspension fork comes with a massive 1mm travel which worked really well on the roughest of trails. The pre-load adjuster helped control the travel according to the weight of the rider and the pressure required.

A performance focused MTB like the Trail 7 (2019) requires precise gearing. This bicycle is equipped with a Microshift direct mount front derailleur and Shimano Altus 9-Speed rear derailleur. This Altus M2 rear derailleur is a latest version of this derailleur and worked seamlessly during the test ride. Cannondale have always set a high standard when it comes to design. The Trail 7 (2019) which I test rode came in a full Black frame with Blue as the secondary colour and internal cable routing for the gear cables. The matte finish paint job was of superior quality. This bicycle has information stickers all over the bicycle that tell the specific technical aspects which we thought is a nice touch to the bicycle. The wide MTB tires with big treads enhance the rugged appeal of this bicycle.

The Cannondale Trail 7 (2019) is equipped with Shimano's MT2 Hydraulic Disc brakes. These brakes are the best you can find on a hardtail MTB with 16mm rotors. These brakes were safe and balanced even on the most slippery and roughest of trails. The Shimano Brake levers were easy to engage with just 2 or 3 fingers.Cannondale C4 MTB handlebar was wide at 72mm in length. This width made sure the rider has full control and great handling capabilities.
