The Hurrikan 27.5D is built on a strong Alloy frame. This hardtail Alloy frame is built in a way to make sure there is extra material in areas, which take the hard impact from trails. The other tubes are thinner which makes the overall frame light in weight for a MTB. The slanting top tube gives the rider extra stand over clearance when riding over bumpy surfaces. The Suntour XCT front suspension fork on this bicycle was smooth and the 1mm travel was more than sufficient to make sure the bumps on the trails are not fully transitioned onto the rider. The suspension lockout on the fork was useful to make the it rigid and ride faster on flat surfaces.

This hardtail Alloy frame comes in 17” and 18” frame sizes
This hardtail MTB from Firefox comes equipped with Shimano Acera M36 8-Speed at the rear and Shimano Tourney TX8 3-Speed at the front as derailleurs. These are mid-level MTB specific componentry from Shimano and they did perform well during the test ride. Quick shifts were smooth and did not have any lags. The 3x8 Speed combination with Shimano Altus M31 shifters made sure there was enough range of gears for climbs and acceleration.

The Shimano Tourney/Acera 24-Speed combination of gears was smooth in operation
The Hurrikan 27.5D that I test rode came in a full Blue frame with Neon Yellow and Black graphics. The matte finish paint job is of top quality and blends the colours used in a neat manner. The internal cable routing made the bicycle look neat and aesthetic. The slanting top tube and the long straight handlebar made this bicycle look longer and sleeker in design. The colour coded rims, fork and saddle along with bulky treads on the tire make this MTB look rugged.

The Firefox Hurrikan 27.5D comes in just this 1 colour variant; Matte Blue with Neon Yellow and Black graphics
The Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes handled the stopping power on the Firefox Hurrikan 27.5D. These brakes are as powerful as it can get on a hardtail mid-level performance MTB. During the test ride these brakes were balanced and powerful enough to bring the bicycle to a safe but quick halt. The UUR 68mm handlebar was lengthy and comfortable, if you are looking to ride it on fast bumpy trails. The handlebar grips could have had more padding for absorbing vibration of the trails.

This hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Kenda K127 27.5’’ x 2.1” tires. These tires are heavily treaded with bulky treads, which cover the tires evenly. This makes sure even fast cornering is safe on rough muddy trails. The stock Firefox MTB saddle is perfectly designed to make sure the rider is safe and sore free on a bumpy ride.

The Kenda 27.5’’ x 2.1” MTB tires had bulky treads and rolled fast
This MTB has a strong yet lightweight Alloy frame with internal cable routing. The powerful Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes make it perfectly safe to brake when riding fast on trails. The heavily treaded 27.5” Kenda tires provide enough traction and rolls safely on wet and dry surfaces. Priced at Rs.28,3(as on 2nd August 219) the Firefox Hurrikan 27.5D is an ideal choice MTB for occasional leisure trail rides and urban roads.
