The tough and lightweight ALUXX-Grade aluminium frame on the Escape 2 is built in Giant's state of the factory so you get premium quality at an affordable price point. The tubes are butted which means that excess material is removed from low stress areas of the frame, reducing the weight without affecting durability or ride quality. The frame tubes are shaped to offer a flex-free platform that remains stiff even under heavy pedalling. The Escape 2 features internal cable routing for a cleaner look. While the ALUXX-Grade alloy fork on this bicycle gives you confident steering control. This composite fork on the Escape 2 saves weight and adds comfort thanks to the natural vibration damping properties of the fork material.

The super lightweight alloy frame was responsive and had a comfortable ride geometry
The Giant Escape 2 features a Shimano drivetrain with a triple chain set up at the front that gives you plenty of low gears for easy climbing. The Escape 2 features 3x8 speed that offers easy climbing low gears. This 3x8 speed drivetrain offers a wider overall range with extra high gears for fast cycling minus the very lowest ratio climbing gear. There was no lag in shifts and helped accelerate quickly. The Shimano SL-M31 trigger shifters were comfortable to use.

The 24-speed Shimano drivetrain were perfectly suited for urban riding
The Escape 2 which I test rode came in a full black frame with neon green graphics. The matte finish paint job quality was top notch and the internal cable routing made the frame look neat. The thin seat stays and chain stays looked sleek and the wide handlebars curved raise gave a new and refreshing look.

The Escape 2 comes in only one colour variant, matte black with neon green graphics
The braking components have not changed from the 217 version of the Escape 2. The Tektro CL333 V-brakes at the front and rear were reliable and balanced during the test ride. The reaction times from the levers to the brakes were also decent. These brakes were good enough for city roads but for the price of this bicycle mechanical disc brakes from Tektro or Shimano would have made sense. The Giant Connect low raise handlebar was wide and made sure the rider has an open chested riding posture. The raise is a gradual curve, which makes it look good as well.

The Tektro V-brakes were enough to get you to a safe halt on urban roads
The 7c wheels on the Escape 2 offer a road bicycle rolling speed and efficiency. All models in the range feature double wall aluminium alloy rims so they are strong enough to take a pounding on the road day-after-day. The Giant SX-3 7x32c tires are wider than what you get on a drop bar road bicycle so they offer a little more cushioning for a smoother ride on uneven road surfaces. These S-X tires feature a tread pattern that offers much better traction in the wet than simple slick tires. They also have puncture protection to significantly reduce the chances of a flat. The Giant Connect Upright saddle was ergonomically designed and had a lot of cushioning to keep the rider sore free. The overall ride quality was fast and comfortable on urban roads.

The 7x32c tires offer the perfect balance between rapid rolling, comfort and grip
Offering the speed and efficiency of a flat bar road bicycle with a wide gear range and a comfortable riding position, this hybrid bicycle is ideal for cycling everywhere from city streets to quiet country lanes. Priced at Rs.36, the components offered could be a little less, especially the derailleurs and brakes but that does not affect the performance. If you are looking for a performance focused and comfortable hybrid bicycle the Giant Escape 2 is an ideal choice to consider.Prices are subject to change by the brand, without due notice.
