Snapshot

The tough and lightweight ALUXX-Grade Aluminium frame on the Escape 3 is built to be lightweight with premium quality. The tubes are butted which means that excess material is removed from low stress areas of the frame, reducing the weight without affecting durability or ride quality. The frame tubes are shaped to offer a riding experience that remains stiff and smooth. The Hi-Tensile Chromoly Steel fork on this bicycle gives you confident steering control. This composite fork on the Escape 3 is strong and can handle hard bumps on urban roads.

This Hybrid bicycle weighs just 12.3 kgs and comes in 4 (S,M,L,XL) frame sizes

The Giant Escape 3 features a full Shimano Tourney drivetrain. The Tourney derailleur at the front and rear are entry-level but were sufficient for commuting and fitness rides on urban roads. The 3x7 Speed Shimano ST-EF41 trigger shifters were basic and had an easy spring action.

The 21-Speed Shimano Tourney drivetrain was perfectly suited for urban riding

The Escape 3 which I test rode came in a full Charcoal colour frame with Black graphics. The matte finish paint job quality was top notch. The thin seat stays and chain stays made the bicycle look sleek. The graphics and design were simple yet elegant.

The Escape 3 comes in 2 colour variants; Charcoal with Black and Flash Green with Black

The braking components have not changed from the 218 version. The Tektro TK837 V-Brakes at the front and rear were reliable and balanced during the test ride. The reaction time from the levers to the brakes was quick. These brakes were good enough for wet and dry urban roads but for the price of this bicycle Mechanical Disc brakes from Tektro or Shimano would have made sense. The Giant Connect Sport handlebar was wide and made sure the rider has an open chested riding posture. The raise is a gradual curve which makes it look good as well.

The Tektro V-Brakes were enough to get you to a safe halt on urban roads

The 7c wheels on the Escape 3 offer a road bicycle rolling speed and efficiency. All models in the range feature double wall aluminium alloy rims so they are strong enough to take a pounding on the road day-after-day. The stock Giant SX-3 7x32C tires are wider than what you get on a drop bar road bicycle so they offer a little more cushioning for a smoother ride on uneven road surfaces. These S-X tires feature a tread pattern that offers much better traction in the wet than simple slick tires alongside puncture protection to significantly reduce the chances of a flat. The Giant Connect Comfort saddle was ergonomically designed and had a lot of cushioning to keep the rider sore free.

The 7x32C stock Giant tires offer the perfect mix of speed and traction

This hybrid bicycles is lightweight thanks to its Alloy frame and helps ride efficiently. The riding posture is comfortable and the Tektro V-brakes are quick to react and powerful. With elegant graphics and a matte finish paint job this bicycle is premium not only in performance but in the looks department as well. Priced at Rs.36,999 (as on 12th June 219) the Giant Escape 3 (2019) is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a bicycle for commuting and fitness purposes.Prices and Specifications/Components are subject to change by the brand, without due notice.
