Snapshot

The Giant SCR SE (2018) has been made using ALUXX technology, with an aluminium frame with butted 611 alloy making it lightweight and strong. The frame features a race-inspired front-end geometry making it quick and nimble. The stiff chassis and sharp-handling. The front-end geometry is balanced out by the D-Fuse seatpost design, which helps smoothen bumpy road surfaces. The frame houses two integrated water bottle holder mounts. This bicycle is available in three sizes - Small, Medium and Large.

The Giant SCR SE comes equipped with a Shimano Claris Drivetrain. The shifting is controlled by Shimano Claris Shifters. The shifting was incredibly smooth, seamless and precise. The positioning of the shifters allows for easy shifting on a ride. The shifters require a feather light nudge to shift, this was impressive. These components at the said price point, from Giant - Kudos!

An incredibly good looking, well-designed bicycle

The Giant SCR SE (2018) comes equipped with Giant specific Tektro TK-R312, dual Pivot rim brakes. The braking mechanism was impeccable, and the brakes were extremely responsive and efficient. The Shimano Claris brake levers are well positioned, and require minimal effort to get the bicycle to come to a complete stop. The alloy handlebar is just the right length to allow for a comfortable riding position, when gripping the drop bars as well as the top of the handlebar.

The Giant SCR SE comes equipped with Giant S-R4, 7x25c tires. The tires are front and rear specific. The 25mm wide tires on this bicycle balance rapid rolling characteristics with grip at the corners. The Giant SCR SE comes equipped with a Justek saddle, which I felt was on the harder side and could cause slight discomfort while on longer rides.
