Hero Cycles is one of the country's top bicycle brands with a long legacy of being the front-runners in bicycle manufacturing in India. The Sprint Pro series is a line of urban MTBs with strong frames and flashy designs for teenagers and adults. We got the opportunity to test ride the Hero Sprint Pro Ceralo 24T and here is what we thought.
A well spec’ed, value for money urban MTB suitable for boys and girls for school commutes and leisure rides.
The Ceralo 24T is built on a strong hardtail alloy frame with a simple frame geometry for a comfortable riding posture. Even though the material is heavy, this is only felt on inclines. The frame is responsive and can handle a lot of hard hitting from the surface on urban roads. The suspension fork on this hardtail urban MTB has a minimal working suspension which was just sufficient to make your ride comfortable when riding over potholes and speed breakers on urban roads.

Shimano's TZ 5 series of derailleurs are used as front and rear derailleurs on the Ceralo 24T. These entry-level derailleur components are a recently launched version of Tourney from Shimano. These 21-Speed derailleurs even though are the most basic version of gears, yet they worked well during the test ride with smooth shifting using the EF5 Shimano trigger shifters.

The bicycle which I test rode came in a Baa Yellow frame colour with Black and Blue graphics. The fluorescent primary colour was bright and had a smooth matte finish paint job. The blue gear cables, part blue on the stem, blue grips and yellow saddle made sure there is uniformity in the design which definitely made the bicycle stand out in a crowd.

The ‘Purk’ branded Mechanical Disc Brakes were a good addition to a 24T urban MTB meant for teenage riders. These brakes performed well during the test ride on urban roads making it safe for school commutes and leisure rides in the neighborhood. The steel 66mm handlebar was comfortable and lengthy to provide an open chested riding posture.

The ‘Purk’ branded Mechanical Disc Brakes on the Ceralo was well balanced and felt safe to use on wet and dry urban roads
The DSI 24” x 2.1” MTB tires along with double walled alloy rims made for a strong set of wheels for this urban MTB. The 24” wheel size is perfect for riders from 4’5” to 5’3”. These tires could handle rough tarmac surfaces well thanks to the bulky and evenly spread out treads. The stock comfort PU saddles on the Ceralo 24T. It was not the most ergonomic in design but has enough cushioning to keep the rider sore free.

This Urban MTB is built for comfort and handled rough patches on urban roads with ease. Be it wet or dry conditions the 24” MTB tires along with the mechanical disc brakes handled the urban roads well.
