Snapshot

This Roadeo A3 is a brand new model released in the 219 range. This bicycle is made of a full Alloy frame. This bicycle is built for smaller riders with a frame measuring 13.7”. This purpose built frame enables shorter riders to have a perfectly suitable fit for a comfortable ride. The slanting top tube made sure it is easy to get off and get on. The threadless Steel front suspension fork has a minimal working travel of 6mm which was enough to absorb the vibrations of speed breakers and bumps.

The Roadeo A3 comes equipped with Shimano Tourney at the front and rear as derailleurs. These are entry-level gearing components in Shimano's MTB and Hybrid hierarchy and they performed to their limits during the test ride. On urban roads riding amidst traffic, these derailleurs were ideal for quick and minimal gear changes. The EF41 Shimano trigger shifters were easy to use and in easy reach from the handlebar grips.

The Shimano Tourney TZ/TY 21-Speed derailleurs were sufficient for short commutes on urban roads

This Urban MTB which I test rode came in a Matte Black primary colour frame with Grey and Neon Yellow as the graphics and design. The matte finish paint job was smooth and made the Neon Yellow stand out. The smaller frame size made the bicycle look compact, yet had all the design characteristics of an MTB.

The A3 comes in 2 colour variants; Matte Black with Grey and Neon Yellow and Matte Black with Blue and Orange

This Urban MTB's stopping power is handled by a pair of Logan Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. These brakes were powerful, safe and balanced to use when used on rough and smooth roads. Both interval and jamming of brakes felt in control when used during the test ride. The XMR Alloy 62mm handlebar on this bicycle was both comfortable and wide enough to give the rider an open chested riding posture.

The 26’’ x 2.1’’ MTB tires on the Roadeo A3 was treaded enough to generate a decent amount of traction on both smooth and rough urban roads. The 26” wheel size does have a fast rolling resistance, which is useful for commuting. The soft PU XMR saddle was cushioned enough to keep the rider comfortable.

This Urban MTB has a comfortable riding posture with its simple frame geometry and wide handlebar. The smaller frame size caters to shorter riders.
