Roadeo has been an established bicycle brand for many years now. Their cycles are mainly targeted at the teenage rider, mainly for commuting and leisure riding in the neighborhood. Over the years Roadeo has developed its bicycles to be ridden by adults as well and also on rough flat trails. From the 2018 range of Roadeo we got the opportunity to test ride the A75 Nickel Blue (2018) and here is what we thought. Weight - 14.5kgs Category - Leisure/Commuting

The A75 is one of the oldest running models in Roadeo series with new launches every year. This hardtail frame is built using Alloy. The 218 A75 has standard frame geometry with a slightly slanted top tube. This made sure the rider; especially the teenage rider gets that extra standover clearance which is useful when coming to a stop in traffic. The Steel Suspension fork is the most basic one can find on a budget Urban MTB with a maximum working travel of 4-5mm which was just about sufficient for the bumps and speed breakers on urban roads.

This Urban MTB is built using a full Alloy frame with 2 frame sizes; 16” and 18.5”
The A75 Nickel Blue is equipped with the entry level Shimano Tourney's TZ at the front and SIS at the rear as derailleurs. These derailleurs are the most basic but are functional and convenient for city commuting and leisure rides. The Shimano EF41 Easy Fire 21-Speed trigger shifters were easy to use with clear gear indicators.

The Shimano TZ/SIS 21-Speed derailleurs were sufficient for short commutes and leisure rides
As in the name of this bicycle the A75 which I test rode came in a full Nickel Blue primary colour with Grey and Black as secondary colours for the graphics and text. The gloss finish paint job was really good in quality and truly made the frame shine with a neat finish. The slightly scooped shape on the top tube was new and aesthetic. The quick release on the seat post and the stock front and rear mudguards were useful additions.

This A75 comes in a gloss finish Nickel Blue frame and also a neon green variant which is sold at a different price
The Flame branded Mechanical Disc brakes on the A75 Nickel Blue 218 is an exciting feature on a bicycle at this price and especially a bonus for teenagers who are looking to buy this bicycle for commuting. These brakes were balanced and the standard brake levers made it easy to operate. The XMR Alloy 6mm handlebar on this bicycle was both comfortable and wide enough to give the rider an open chested riding posture.

Flame Mechanical Disc brakes were safe and balanced to use on both rough and smooth urban roads
The DSI branded 26” x 2.1” MTB tires on the A75 Nickel Blue are well treaded to generate a decent amount of traction of the tar surface. The 26” wheel size is perfect for fast rolling resistance, which is useful for commuting. The soft PU XMR Saddle wasn’t the most ergonomic but it was cushioned enough to keep the rider comfortable.

The DSI 26” x 2.1” MTB tires are treaded well and had good rolling resistance
This Urban Alloy MTB has a comfortable riding posture with its simple frame geometry and 6mm handlebar. The reactive Flame branded Mechanical Disc brakes were a good addition for a bicycle at this price. The gloss paint job was top notch in quality and a real head turner in the graphics department.
