The Scott Addict 1 is built on a carbon frame. This frame has a short head tube, allowing for the most extreme positions. A wide BB72 Press-Fit bottom bracket, slim triangular seat stays and mildly asymmetric chunky chain stays finish off this exceptional frame. The race road geometry makes this bicycle race ready for both quick and longer rides.

The Addict 1 is equipped with a complete Ultegra 11-speed groupset from Shimano. It's a big improvement over the previous version of Shimano's Ultegra drivetrain, and comes very close to Dura-Ace performance. The entire group is a virtual clone of Dura-Ace, without the anodized finish. Shifting in the front and rear are smooth and precise, besting even the previous generation Dura-Ace in this department. It still isn’t quite as good as Shimano's electronic Di2 groupset, which sets the standard for fast, effortless shifts that work under all conditions. However, the longer lever throws of the mechanical system do provide more feedback than their electronic counterparts, a big plus when riding with thick gloves in colder conditions.

The Scott Addict 1 which I test rode came in a full black matte finish. The internal cable routing was very neat and even had RD and FD text marking to differentiate the cables when in need of changing in the future. The neatly curved and flowing frame to seat stay through the seat post is smooth and adds an elegant look to the bicycle. The light grey and bright green colours in a few places on the bicycle adds a good contrast to the black colour. This bicycle comes only in this 1 colour variant.

The high quality black matte finish makes this bicycle look worth the price as well
Being a top end road bicycle meant for both speed and endurance, the Addict 1 required some top notch brakes. The Shimano Ultegra BR-R8 dual pivot caliper brakes at both the front and rear were the best you can get. During the test ride the brakes had a super quick reaction time. The brake pads will last for a long time even with aggressive use.The Syncros Creston 2. compact road handlebars were of the ideal width to give the rider good reach to the drops as well as a comfortable riding posture which helps to have good control of the bicycle on climbs.

The Scwalbe Durano Fold tires measuring 7x28C tires grip superbly even in mixed conditions, and the package would get you through races and helps unlock the Addict's full potential. The Syncros rims are lightweight and makes for a faster wheelset. The Syncros FL 2. is ergonomically designed to keep the rider pain free for a long time on endurance rides and provide optimum comfort on faster, edge of the seat rides. The overall ride quality was fast and comfortable on flat tarmacs.
