Snapshot

The Spectral 26T is built on a strong Steel frame with a simple geometry for a comfortable riding posture. Even though the material is heavy, this is only felt on inclines. The frame is responsive and can handle a lot of hard hitting from the surface on urban roads. The threadless suspension forks on this hardtail Urban MTB has a minimal working suspension of 65-7mm against the claimed 8mm, which was just sufficient to make your ride comfortable when riding over potholes and speed breakers on urban roads.

The Spectral 26T comes with a Single-Speed drivetrain. The 18 teeth freewheel along with a 44 teeth crankset were perfect in size to pedal fast and with minimal effort on urban roads. Riding on inclines and flyovers did feel the need for extra pressure but it was comfortable for commutes.

The bicycle which I test rode came in a Black colour with Orange, White and Blue graphics. The matte finish paint job was top notch in quality. The colour coded cables, saddle, rims and handlebar all enhanced the overall aesthetics of the bicycle.

The ‘Repute’ branded Mechanical Disc brakes were a good addition to this 26T Urban MTB meant for teenage and adult riders. These brakes performed well during the test ride on urban roads making it safe for school commutes and leisure rides in the neighborhood. The Steel 66mm handlebar was comfortable and lengthy to provide an open chested riding posture.

The 26” x 2.1” MTB tires along with double walled Alloy rims made for a strong set of wheels for this urban MTB. These tires could handle rough tarmac surfaces well thanks to the bulky and evenly spread out treads. The stock comfort PU Saddle on the Spectral 26T was not the most ergonomic in design but has enough cushioning to keep the rider sore free.
