Merida Big.Nine XT - Text Review

The BIG.NINE XT uses MERIDA's lightweight BIG.NINE CF3 III carbon frame. Its progressive geometry is designed to provide confident handling on challenging cross-country terrain. The frame accepts tires up to 29×2.4 inches and uses a 148×12mm rear axle standard. AGILOMETER sizing offers five frame sizes from S through XXL. Internal cable routing keeps the frame clean while protecting cables from external elements. The combination of carbon construction and modern geometry creates a lightweight and performance-focused platform.

The bicycle features Shimano XT Di2 M8250 wireless 12-speed shifting for rapid and precise gear changes. The Shimano XT M8200 crankset uses a 34-tooth chainring for efficient XC pedalling. A Shimano Deore M8200 10–51T cassette provides a wide gearing range for climbs and fast sections. The KMC X12 chain completes the 12-speed drivetrain. The BIG.NINE XT uses FSA SCi30 carbon wheels with a 30mm internal rim width. The tubeless-ready wheelset is paired with fast-rolling Maxxis Rekon Race 29×2.4-inch tyres. Both tyres feature 3C MaxxTerra EXO construction and are designed for tubeless use. The Prologo Akero R PAS saddle provides the seating platform for cross-country riding.
