Battalion R25 - Review

The Battalion R25 is built on a performance focused Road focused Alloy frame. The frame geometry is endurance focused and can be safely termed an all-rounder as the riding posture on the hoods and drops are suited well for both flat out speeds and tiresome hill climbs. The tapered carbon fork is super-light and immensely helps in reducing the overall weight of the Bicycle.

The Battalion R25 is equipped with an 18-Speed Shimano Sora groupset. Sora is the 2nd from bottom after Claris in Shimano's Road component hierarchy. The shifting was quick and responsive during the test ride. The Sora 2x9-Speed paddle shifters are easy and smooth in usage.

This Road Bicycle from Battalion which we test rode came in a dual colour frame with Black and Green with White as the secondary colour. The matte finish paint job quality was smooth with bright White graphics. The internal cable routing for the gears made sure the Bicycle looked neat and also increases the life of the cables.

The Battalion R25's stopping power is handled by Ridek Mechanical Disc brakes. The dual disc brake setup was precise and powerful in performance when stopping on both dry and wet roads.The Jijabao drop handlebar on this Bicycle was comfortable on the hoods and drops. The bar tape was grippy even with wet hands and gloves.

The 7x25C compound road tires were perfect for fast rides and climbing on smooth tarmacs. The rubber compounds were strong and do give a long life on dry roads.The stock saddle was designed ergonomically for an Endurance Road Bicycle to make sure the rider can be seated for long hours without experiencing any soreness.
