Snapshot

The Hardtail Alloy frame on the Cosmic 28 29 comes with a conical top tube and a rounded bottom tube. The top tube is slightly slanting which makes the rider position comfortable. The chunky bottom tube can absorb quite a bit of vibration of the surface. The neatly curving bottom tube which connects to the top tube at the head tube area makes for equal weight distribution on the frame when riding. The Cosmic Suspension fork worked well during the test ride on trails and the 8mm travel was sufficient to tackle the bumps. The lock-out feature on the fork helped make the fork rigid for better acceleration on flat roads.

The gearing on the Cosmic 28 29 is taken care of by a 2-Speed Shimano Tourney at the front and an 8-Speed Shimano Altus at the rear. This combination of Shimano derailleurs gives good performance and the 2-Speed Front Derailleur is ideal for quick shifting on inclines and for acceleration. During the test tide the derailleurs worked smoothly with very less noise. The Shimano 16-Speed Alloy shifters were easy to operate.

The Bicycle which we test rode came in a full Black frame with Red and Yellow graphics. The matte finish paint job was top notch which makes the frame look smooth and superior. This frame's tubes are designed in a way to look sleek and this enhances the aesthetics of the frame. The full Black suspension fork with graphics go well with the matte Black frame. The internal cable routing on the frame not only made the Bicycle look neat but also increases the lifespan of the cables.

The Cosmic 28 29 comes equipped with Nutt branded Hydraulic Disc brakes at the front and rear. The brakes were powerful and balanced during the test ride and were perfect for trails and rough urban roads. Hydraulic Disc brakes at this price are definitely a positive for this MTB.The handlebar was lengthy with a slight rise from the middle, giving the rider full control of the Bicycle and making the posture comfortable.

The Cosmic 28 29 as the name suggests rolls on a pair of Compass Jumping Hare 29” x 2.25” MTB tires. These tires with the heavy rubber treading give better traction of the surface an also faster rolling speeds over rocks and mud on the trails. The double walled Alloy rims significantly contribute towards keeping the wheelset stronger and in turn making the wheels withstand a lot of hard hitting. The stock Cosmic Saddle was the perfect mix of ergonomics and cushioning, making it comfortable for rough rides.

29er MTBs are hardcore Hardtail MTBs with 29 inch tires to roll over the roughest of surfaces with ease.
