EMotorad Doodle - Review

The EMotorad Doddle is built on a folding frame made of 661 Alloy. Electric Bicycles are generally heavy and the Alloy material makes sure the weight is in check. This frame folds from the middle with a strong metal lever and the handlebar also folds down using a similar type of lever. These levers are easy to open and close without the help of any tool. The low top tube helps in easy and safe getting on and off for shorter rides and the adjustable seat post and handlebar helps riders from 5’ to 6’4” to find their suitable riding posture.The Doddle is a Hardtail Electric Bicycle with a front suspension. The front suspension fork with a 6mm travel works smoothly and helps reduce most vibrations of the surface on bumpy roads. The suspension lock-out helps the fork become rigid and ride faster on flatter surfaces.

This Folding Electric Bicycle is equipped with a simple 1x7-Speed drivetrain. This means there is no front derailleur and the rear has a 7-Speed derailleur. This 7-Speed gear system helps in 2 scenarios; for exercise purposes and also to pedal easily if in case the battery power runs out during a ride. The Shimano shifters were basic and were easy to shift with clear gear indicators.

The Doddle which we test rode came in a full Black frame with Green and White as the secondary colours for the text and graphics. The matte finish paint job was neatly done with a smooth finish. This Folding frame design was simple yet elegant with neat welds and levers which enable easy folding and opening. This Electric Bicycle comes with useful accessories which include a rear carrier, front and rear metal mudguards, a front LED light and a rear LED light.

The EMotorad Doodle's stopping power is handled by Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. This performance focused component provided powerful stopping power during the test ride.The handlebar on this E-Bicycle was of the perfect length to give a comfortable riding posture and easy manoeuvring. The grip throttle on the right was smooth and easy to use to accelerate. This handlebar is adjustable in height and can also be folded.

The EMotorad Doddle rolls on a pair of 2” x 4” fat tires. These tires are heavily treaded and fast rolling, making them perfect for rough and smooth roads. These tires are also fixed with stock front and rear metal mudguards for protection from dirt and rain for the rider.The stock saddle from EMotorad was wide and well cushioned to keep the rider sore free when riding on bumpy roads.
