Firefox Axxis 24 Review

Hardtail Urban MTB's are a popular range of bicycles from Firefox with varied price ranges, designs, specs and are built for comfort and performance. The Axxis series have multiple variants for different riding purposes. We got the opportunity to test ride the Firefox Axxis 24 and here is what we thought. Weight: 14 kgs Usage: Leisure

An elegant looking Urban MTB for children and teenagers with a comfortable riding posture and well-treaded tires.

The Firefox Axxis 24 comes with a strong Steel frame. The top tube on this frame has a slanting top tube which made sure the rider gets extra stand over clearance when riding over rough patches. The frame is responsive and clearly feels like it can take in the hard hitting of the rough surface. The front suspension fork is basic and has a minimal 4-5mm travel to take in some amount of vibration from the surface.

The Firefox Axxis 24 comes with a single-speed drivetrain. The stock crankset contributes towards smooth pedaling on urban roads and rough surfaces. Acceleration and slight inclines would require extra effort but other than that this bicycle is easy to pedal and is very low maintece.

This Urban MTB came in a full White frame with Blue and Grey as the secondary colours for the text and graphics. The colours were a subtle combination and looked elegant. The matte finish paint job was of top quality and is a positive on a 24” bicycle targeted at children and teenagers.

The Sparkle branded V-brakes was standard with long arms and thick brake pads. These brakes provided sufficient braking power for safe and quick stopping amidst traffic and rough surfaces. The Steel bird type handlebar was perfect in width and made the posture was comfortable. The grips could have had more cushioning.

The Axxis 24 rolls on a pair of stock 24” x 2.125” MTB tires. The 2.125” width along with a good tread pattern made sure the tires were grippy on both wet and dry roads. The stock saddle was wide and looked large in size with a lot of cushioning which made sure the ride is comfortable and sore free.

The 24” x 2.125” tires were well treaded and fast rolling

This bicycle has a comfortable frame geometry which is aided by a slanting top tube for extra standover clearance. The matte finish paint job and overall design definitely looked premium. The 24” x 2.125” tires were both fast rolling and have a good tread pattern for safe riding. Priced at Rs.1,7 (as on 3th May 219) the Firefox Axxis 24 is an ideal choice for any teenager in the height range of 4’5” to 5’3”, for riding on rough and smooth urban roads.Prices and Specifications/Components are subject to change by the brand, without due notice.
