Hero Sprint Pro Ceralo 26T Review

Hero Cycles is one of the Country's top bicycle brands with a long legacy of being the front runners in bicycle manufacturing in India. The Sprint Pro series are a line of Urban MTBs with strong frames and flashy designs for teenagers and adults. We got the opportunity to test ride the Hero Sprint Pro Ceralo 26T and here is what we thought. Weight: 16.7 kgs Usage: Leisure/Commuting

A stylish and comfortable Urban MTB for commuting and leisure rides.

The Ceralo 26T is built on a strong hardtail Alloy frame with a simple frame geometry for a comfortable riding posture. Even though the material is heavy, this is only felt on inclines. The frame is responsive and can handle a lot of hard hitting from the surface on urban roads. The Suspension fork on this hardtail urban MTB has a minimal working suspension which was just sufficient to make your ride comfortable when riding over potholes and speed breakers on urban roads.

The Steel hardtail frame is strong with a comfortable geometry and comes in 1 standard frame size

Shimano's TZ 5 series of derailleurs are used as front and rear derailleurs on the Ceralo 26T. These entry-level derailleur components are a recently launched version of the Tourney from Shimano. These 21-Speed derailleurs even though are the most basic version of gears yet they worked well during the test ride with smooth shifting using the EF5 Shimano trigger shifters.

The 21-Speed Shimano TZ drivetrain shifted smoothly without any lags

The bicycle which I test rode came in a Dark Blue colour with Orange and White graphics. The matte finish paint job quality was top notch in quality. The colour coded cables, saddle, rims and handlebar enhanced the overall aesthetics of the bicycle.

The Hero Sprint Pro Ceralo 26T comes in a matte finish and in 2 colour variants; Matte Blue with Orange and Matte Yellow with Black

The ‘Purk’ branded Mechanical Disc brakes were good addition to a 26T Urban MTB meant for teenage and adult riders. These brakes performed well during the test ride on urban roads making it safe for school commutes and leisure rides in the neighborhood. The Steel 66mm handlebar was comfortable and lengthy to provide an open chested riding posture.

The Purk branded Mechanical Disc brakes on the Ceralo are well balanced and felt safe to use on wet and dry urban roads

The DSI 26” x 2.1” MTB tires along with double walled alloy rims made for a strong set of wheels for this Urban MTB. These tires could handle rough tarmac surfaces well thanks to the bulky and evenly spread out treads. The stock Comfort PU saddle on the Ceralo 26T was not the most ergonomic in design but has enough cushioning to keep the rider sore free.

The 26” x 2.1” DSI MTB tires with bulky treads could handle rough patches on urban roads with ease

This Urban MTB is built for comfort and handled rough patches on urban roads with ease. Be it wet or dry conditions the 26” MTB tires along with the Mechanical Disc brakes handled the urban roads well. The 21-Speed Shimano Tourney TZ derailleurs helped shift gears in a smooth and quick manner. Priced at Rs.12,945 (as on 15th March 219) the Hero Sprint Pro Ceralo 26T is an ideal bicycle for teenagers and adults for leisure rides and short commutes.Prices are subject to change by the brand, without due notice.
