Snapshot

The Jamis DXT A1 comes with a 661 Aluminium frame. This Hardtail frame has a slanting top tube, which provided an aggressive rider position yet provided the rider with supreme control on rough patches. Both the top tube and bottom tube aren’t fully circular, which makes the tubes sleek and keeps the weight in check.During the test ride the Suntour NVX front suspension fork with its 8mm travel worked well both on harsh urban roads and muddy surfaces. The Suspension lockout was a useful feature for efficient riding on smooth and flat surfaces.

The 661 Aluminum is optimized for strength-to-weight ratio with sleek tubes resulting in light weight without sacrificing strength

The gearing in the DXT A1 is handled by a microShift Advent Active rear derailleur 9-Speed with Clutch. Having only a rear derailleur and no front derailleur makes this Bicycle quick in shifting. The Advent from Microshift is a performance focused drivetrain and provides enough power to get up to speed. The Microshift Advent Express 9-Speed gear shifter was easy to use.

The Jamis DXT A1 which we test rode came in a Grey primary colour on the frame with Black as the secondary colour for the graphics. The gloss finish paint job enhanced the colour scheme to make it look shiny. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and the colour coordinated rims and fork made it look aesthetic.

The stopping power on the Jamis DXT A1 is taken care of by a pair of powerful Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes at the front and back. These disc brakes are powerful and balanced and felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.Jamis makes many in house components and the handlebar is one of them. The Jamis Riser Alloy handlebar is lengthy with a very slight rise from the middle. This is a perfect MTB type handlebar which means a comfortable and open chested riding posture giving great control over the Bicycle while on fast paced rides.

The CST branded Dual Sport all-round tires impressed us during the test ride. The 7x42C tires were heavily treaded with evenly spread buttons which covered the edges as well. These tires were fast rolling on flatter surfaces and could handle rough patches with ease. The Selle Royal Vivo Ergo Saddle was wide with enough cushioning.
