The Orbea Orca M30 is Orbea’s “lightweight all-rounder” road machine, built for riders who demand climbing ability, responsive handling, and modern gearing - without stepping into the very top-tier budget. From its shape to its spec sheet, the Orca M30 signals that it wants to be both race-capable and endurance-friendly.
The Orca M30 uses the OMR carbon monocoque frame (2026 spec), with internal cable routing, rear thru‐axle (12×142 mm), tapered head tube (1-1/8″ to 1-1/2″), and bottom bracket standard BB386. The frame geometry is well thought out: there’s a full size range from 47 cm up to 60 cm, and Orbea optimises the layup for every size to ensure stiffness and ride feel are consistent.
Fit wise, geometry leans sporty but not extreme—seatpost angles are in the low-to-mid-70s, head tube rake and trail are moderate. The shape allows for 32 mm tyres, which helps with comfort and road irregularities.

The acceleration, vibration absorption and reactive ride comes from a frame designed to reduce weight and reinforce stiffness.
The Orca M30 comes equipped with Shimano 105 R7100 12-speed components (both crankset & derailleur, cassette 11-34t) and matching 105 hydraulic levers. That’s a solid mid-upper drivetrain that balances cost, performance, durability.
In performance terms, the shifting is smooth, crisp, and the wide 11-34 cassette gives a good spread for climbs without feeling too low in the big sprockets. The crank options are 34×50 or 36×52, giving you choice depending on whether your territory is flatter or hillier.
The power delivery is direct thanks to frame stiffness, especially laterally. When accelerating out of corners, or sprinting short bursts, there’s minimal flex. Climbing is a strength — the lower-weight frame plus the 105 group means you can stay efficient uphill.

Optimised stiffness for each size ensures all Orcas behave the same when you step on the pedals.
Comfort is often neglected in high performance bikes, but the Orca M30 does several things right. The ability to fit up to 32 mm tyres helps a lot, especially on rough or broken roads. The seat tube angles are designed to be comfortable but performance-oriented.
The frame design includes vibration damping through carbon layups and shape. It’s not a plush endurance bike per se, but for long rides it doesn’t punish you as some purely racing frames might. The internal cable routing also reduces rattles, keeps the ride cleaner.
Saddle is a Fizik Aliante R5 - a performance saddle, with a shape that suits a variety of riders. If you're more comfort-oriented, you might eventually want to swap it, but as stock it’s good. Seatpost is a carbon SP 0.2, 27.2 mm, setback 20 mm — standard, functional.

That sense of a lightweight, efficient bike is unmatched when hitting the climbs.
The Orca M30 uses Shimano R7170 hydraulic disc brakes. These are modern, powerful, reliable units. Modulation is good; you get firm bite, good stopping power, especially in wet or demanding conditions.
Steering comes via the tapered head tube and a reasonably short fork rake in larger sizes (in smaller sizes rake is larger to keep handling consistent). The front end feels nimble but not twitchy; on fast descents and technical corners the bike inspires confidence. Orbea’s design with thru axles front & rear aids rigidity, so steering is precise.

Internal cable routing over the head tube, clean and silent, lets you focus on cornering — not cable rub.
Wheels are alloy rims, 700c, 19c internal width, 28 holes. They are tubeless ready. Tyres come as Continental Grand Prix foldable 700×28c as stock. Good tyre choice: fast rolling, reliable grip, and 28 mm gives decent comfort. For rougher roads, 30-32 mm tyres will help and frame allows up to 32 mm.
The saddle, as mentioned, is the Fizik Aliante R5 – performance oriented, somewhat firm. If you're used to plush saddles, you may want to test ride. The handlebars and stem (OC Road Performance) are good quality, though not top tier. Their geometry allows for customisation (widths, reach) via the size choices.

Alloy wheels with tubeless capability and good rubber make the ride smoother than you’d expect from a bike in this class.
If you want to attack every climb and yet ride all day, this is your companion.
