Snapshot

The Roadeo Hardliner 27.5 DD (2019) comes with a Steel MTB hardtail frame. The positives about this frame are the build quality and strength. This butted frame tubes are thicker at the ends where stress is higher. The frame geometry is comfortable with a slight aggressiveness in the posture for full control on rough surfaces. The Hardliner 27.5 comes with a front suspension fork. This threadless fork comes with a minimal 6-7 mm travel. During the test ride this fork was responsive and sufficient for small bumps and speed breakers.

This recreational MTB's gearing comes with Shimano TZ5 as the front derailleur and TY3 direct mount as the rear derailleur. These derailleurs are entry-level and performed decently during the test ride. No real lags in gear transmissions and was sufficient for quick shifts and urban roads. The Shimano EF41 21-Speed shifters were standard gear shifting components, which worked well and were easy to engage.

The Hardliner 27.5 which I test rode came in a dual shade Blue and Neon Green as the primary colours on the frame. The gloss finish paint job was shining and neat which enhances the already bright colour combination. The forks, rims and saddle were all colour-coded with Neon Green graphics.

Recreational or performance focused, all MTB's depend on their braking components for the quick stopping power required on rough surfaces. The Roadeo Hardliner 27.5 comes with dual Logan branded Mechanical Disc brakes. During the test ride I put these brakes through severe testing with braking at high speeds on turns and interval braking. The balance of the brakes were good and felt safe as well. The brake levers needed only 3 fingers to use and were in comfortable reach from the handlebar grips. The XMR MTB handlebar is really oversized with a 62mm width. It was aggressive but still in comfortable reach without needing the rider to lean forward too much. The grips felt hard when going over potholes and curbs.

The Roadeo Hardliner 27.5 DD (2019) comes with a pair 27.5” x 2.125” Wanda tires which are well supported by the XMR double walled alloy rims. These tires were heavily treaded and handled the roughest of urban surfaces during the test ride with ease. These wide tires will also keep you on the saddle even on wet conditions. The soft XMR PU Saddle was cushioned and made sure the rider was comfortable even on the bumpiest of surfaces.

This Steel hardtail bicycle is comfortable to ride and has the perfect handlebar width. The Mechanical Disc brakes are powerful for safe and quick stoppages.
