The Specialized Tarmac SL7 Sport with Shimano 105 is a high-performance road bike that brings pro-level aerodynamics and racing pedigree into a more accessible segment. It’s designed for riders who want real race-bred performance — but without going for the top-tier (and very expensive) builds. “This isn’t just a race bike; it’s an aero machine built for speed, efficiency, and long days on the road.” In this review, I’ll cover frame & design, drivetrain & performance, comfort, braking & steering, wheels & saddle, and my verdict.
A UCI (United Cycling Internationale) approved FACT 10R carbon frame, designed only for speed. Super aggressive and yet comfortable enough for a long distance ride also.
This frame has a special internal reflectivity meant for safety, “SEE and Be Seen”

The Tarmac SL7 Sport’s frame is built using FACT 9r carbon, keeping weight low and stiffness high for responsive performance.
Front Derailuer: Shimano 105
Rear Derailuer: Shimano 105, 12 speed .
Shifters: Shimano 12 speed mechanical.
Cassette: Shimano 12 speed
Chain: Shimano SLX 12 speed
Crankset: Shimano 12 speed
Bottom Bracket: Shimano Threaded

The drivetrain is Shimano 105, 12-speed mechanical. The crank is 52/36T, and the cassette is 11–34T, giving a solid range of gears for both flat out sprints and modest climbs.
The carbon frame and fork absorb enough vibration so that on longer rides or rough patches, it doesn’t feel bone-shaking.
The Shallow Drop handlebars give a good balance — aerodynamic enough for speed, but not so aggressive as to be uncomfortable for many hours.
"
Despite being an aerodynamic race bike, the SL7 Sport balances stiffness with surprising comfort.
Steering is sharp and precise. The integrated stem + handlebar and carbon fork contribute to very responsive handling. Because this is a high-performance frame, it’s not “relaxed” like some endurance bikes — the SL7 Sport is made for speed
"
The Shimano 105 hydraulic disc brakes (160 mm front, 140 mm rear) offer strong, consistent braking in a variety of conditions.
The Turbo Pro 700×26 mm tyres strike a good balance: fast rolling, but still comfortable enough for long rides.
The saddle is the Body Geometry Power Sport (steel rails) — supportive, and tuned for sporty riding without being overly aggressive. The seatpost is a FACT carbon post with 20 mm offset, helping with comfort and position.
"
The bike comes with DT R470 Disc wheels, which are reliable and reasonably lightweight for a performance build.
Overall, the Tarmac SL7 Sport (Shimano 105) is a top-tier performance bike positioned at a more accessible level. It’s ideal for:
