Snapshot

The Unirox Ex-Storm 27.5 HD is built on a strong Alloy frame. This Hardtail Alloy frame is built in a way to make sure that there is extra material on areas which can get hard impact from trails, the other tubes are hence thinner which makes the overall frame lightweight for a MTB. The slanting top tube gives the rider extra standover clearance for the rider when riding over bumpy surfaces. The stock front suspension fork on this Bicycle was smooth and the travel was more than sufficient to make sure the bumps on the trails are not fully transitioned onto the rider. The suspension lock-out on the fork was useful to make it rigid and ride faster on flat surfaces.

This Hardtail MTB from Unirox comes equipped with a Shimano Tourney 8-Speed at the rear and a Tourney 3-Speed at the front as derailleurs. These are entry-level MTB specific componentry from Shimano and they did perform well during the test ride. Quick shifts of up and down were smooth and did not have any lags. The 3x8-Speed gears with Shimano Altus M315 shifters made sure there was enough range for climbs and acceleration.

The Ex-Storm 27.5 HD which we test rode came in a full Black frame with White graphics. The gloss finish paint job is of top quality and blends the colours used in a neat manner. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and aesthetic. The slanting top tube and the long straight handlebar made this Bicycle look sporty and sleeker in design. The colour coded rims, fork and saddle along with bulky treads on the tires make this MTB look rugged.

The Logan Hydraulics Disc brakes handled the stopping power on the Unirox Ex-Storm 27.5 HD. These brakes are as powerful as it can get on a hardtail mid-level performance MTB. During the test ride these brakes were balanced and powerful enough to bring the Bicycle to a safe but quick halt. The Alloy 68mm handlebar was lengthy and comfortable if you are looking to ride it on fast bumpy trails. The handlebar grips could have had more padding for absorbing vibration of the trails.

This Hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Hartex 27.5” x 2.1” tires. These tires are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly. This makes sure even fast cornering is safe on rough muddy trails. The stock Unirox MTB saddle is perfectly designed to make sure the rider is safe and sore free on a bumpy ride.
