The United Clovis 3.1 29” comes with a Hydroformed Aluminium frame with internal cable routing. The Hardtail frame has a slanting top tube, which provided an aggressive position yet gives the rider supreme control on Trails. Both the top tube and bottom tube aren’t circular, they are flat which makes the tubes sleek and keeps the weight in check.During the test ride the Suntour XCM32 Boost front suspension fork with its 1mm travel was impressive both on harsh urban roads and rough trails. The Suspension lockout was a useful feature for efficient riding on smooth and flat surfaces.

The Gearing on the United Clovis 3.1 29” is handled by Shimano Alivio 2-Speed at the front and Shimano Alivio 9-Speed at the rear. Having 9 gears at the rear ensures an extended range of speed which provides more power. The Shimano Altus 18-Speed rapid gear shifters were easy to use.

The United Clovis 3.1 29” which we test rode came in a Yellow primary colour on the frame with Grey as the secondary colour. The gloss finish paint job enhanced the colour scheme to make it look more aesthetic. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and the colour coordinated rims and fork enhanced the overall design of this MTB.

The stopping power on the United Clovis 3.1 29” is taken care of by a pair of Shimano MT2 Hydraulic Disc brakes. These disc brakes are powerful and balanced and felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.The United Alloy handlebar is lengthy with a 74mm width and a very slight rise from the middle. This is a perfect MTB handlebar which means a comfortable and open chested riding posture giving great control over the Bicycle during fast paced trail rides.

The Maxxis Ardent MTB tires impressed us during the test ride. The 29” x 2.25” tires were heavily treaded with bulky buttons which covered the edges as well. These tires were fast rolling on flatter surfaces and could handle rocky surfaces with ease. The stock Trail specific Saddle was wide with enough cushioning.
