Polygon Heist X2 Text Review

The Polygon Heist X2 is a versatile hybrid bike purpose-built for both urban commuting and light off-road adventures. Sitting in the middle of the Heist range, it combines thoughtful geometry with reliable components for a smooth and confident ride.

“The Polygon Heist X2 brings you the best riding feels ever—whether navigating city streets or exploring gravel laps.”

Crafted from AL6 Urban Cross aluminum and featuring a QRx135 rear axle, the Heist X2 blends a lightweight yet durable frame platform with clean internal cable routing and mounts for racks and fenders. Size options (S, M, L, XL) accommodate riders roughly from 150 cm to 190 cm, with geometry offering a 71° head tube angle and 74° seat tube angle, 440 mm chainstays, 415 mm reach, and a bike weight around 13.9 kg (30.6 lbs).

A sturdy but nimble AL6 alloy frame with refined geometry means the Heist X2 fits just about any rider—just mount up, and go

Equipped with a dependable 2×8 Shimano drivetrain—Altus SL-M315 shifters, Acera RD-M360 rear derailleur, Tourney FD-TY710 front derailleur, Prowheel alloy crank (46/34T), and Shimano CS-HG200 12-32T cassette—this setup offers a wide gear range suitable for brisk commutes and light trail sections. The chain is a reliable KMC Z-8.3.

Dual-ring drivetrains mean gear-range flexibility to tackle both slow climbs and fast descents—without compromising shift precision

Comfort is a hallmark feature: the Suntour NEX fork provides 63 mm of travel with preload adjustment to soften rough surfaces, while the upright handlebar and ergonomic geometry relieve long-ride fatigue. Add to that the WTB Riddler 700×45C tires, offering low rolling resistance and cushioning over mixed terrain.

Braking is handled by high-performance hydraulic disc brakes (Tektro M275 on newer 2025 spec; unspecified “high-performance” model on earlier) with 160 mm rotors front and rear—delivering responsive, modulated stopping even in adverse conditions. Steering is stable and responsive thanks to the 700 mm Entity Xpert handlebar and integrated sealed-bearing headset.

Hydraulic disc braking ensures pinpoint stopping—that little squeeze is all it takes to tame speed on any descent

The alloy double-wall 700c wheels pair with WTB Riddler 45C tires to deliver a taut, rolling feel that still offers enough grip for loose surfaces. On top of that, the Entity Steel-bodied saddle and 27.2 mm offset seatpost provide dependable comfort, though riders seeking long-distance plushness might wish for a padded upgrade.

The alloy 700c wheels feel swift and solid—pair them with the grippy Riddlers, and you’re ready for anything from pavement to gravel
